Taking place from May 30 to June 4, the exhibition will help visitors and consumers gain more knowledge and skills in identifying authentic books, publications and safe toys for children on International Children's Day, June 1.

According to the General Department of Market Management, the production and trade of counterfeit publications, pirated textbooks, reference books, etc. have greatly affected the production and business activities of publishers. Counterfeit publications seriously affect the legitimate rights of authors, publishing units, and affiliated partners, destroy creativity and cause losses to the State budget.

In particular, counterfeit educational publications will seriously affect the main users, students, due to errors in knowledge, lack of data, and lack of updated information, leading to incorrect content (border lines, sea and island issues), and knowledge received. In addition, counterfeit publications with low quality printing paper and not meeting technical standards will adversely affect students' health, especially eyesight...

Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director General of the General Department of Market Management, said the consequences of book piracy also affect Vietnam's reputation when participating in the Berne Convention for the protection of literary and artistic works.

A pirated book was found to not have the names of the islands printed on it compared to the real book, which will harm learners by giving them incorrect knowledge about geography.

During this week, the showroom of the General Department of Market Management also introduces to readers many children's toy products, especially assembly toys that are popular with parents and children.

Many publishers send staff to advise readers and consumers to identify counterfeit publications.

Through actual inspection, the market management force discovered that subjects often mix and sell counterfeit products or products with designs that can be easily mistaken as genuine products… at prices similar to genuine products. This behavior has caused economic losses to consumers as well as legitimate businesses.

According to the General Department of Market Management, the showroom is divided into two areas, introducing over 1,000 publications and children's toys, each product has real - fake verification to help consumers identify and avoid buying products that do not ensure quality and safety.
