Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District Pham Tuan Long said that since 1960, President Ho Chi Minh has launched the Tree Planting Festival in the first days of the new year, which has now become an annual tradition across the country. This is an important and practical activity in protecting the environment and combating climate change.

Hoan Kiem District is the center of Hanoi Capital, has a small administrative boundary, high population density and traffic. In recent years, Hoan Kiem District has been paying attention to environmental protection and improving people's lives.

During the 2021 - 2025 term and 2025, in Hoan Kiem district, nearly 1,000 additional urban trees were planted, replacing fallen trees due to storms and planting more than 25,000m² of single trees, tree patches, and lawns in flower gardens, sidewalks and school campuses.

In addition, the District People's Committee has also renovated and embellished 11 flower gardens in the area, including flower gardens with historical and architectural values ​​such as Dien Hong, Co Tan, Tay Son and many public spaces such as Hanoi Book Street on 19/12 Street.

On the occasion of the Spring of At Ty 2025, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District has directed the District Urban Management Department and the People's Committees of 18 wards to continue to coordinate with Hanoi Green Parks and Trees Company Limited to review and plan tree planting in the district in 2025.

Discussing Dien Hong flower garden, the Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee informed that this is a flower garden with architectural value in the central area of ​​Hanoi, and at the same time plays an important role in completely connecting the architectural landscape space of Ly Thai To flower garden area, State Bank square, Hoan Kiem Lake area and vicinity (a special national historical relic) and many important works such as: Government guest house, City Party Committee headquarters, City Labor Federation headquarters, Italian Cultural Center, Metropole Hotel.

After nearly 120 years of existence, the flower garden has been comprehensively renovated and upgraded. On January 10, 2023, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District held the inauguration ceremony of the Dien Hong flower garden renovation project. The flower garden has been given a new look with green trees and grass interwoven with walking paths; at both ends of the flower garden are large flower beds planted with many different types of shrubs with the idea of ​​bringing tropical forests into the city.

Items such as sidewalks and walkways, previously paved with various materials, have been replaced by a system of natural stone walkways. Sidewalks have been replaced with trees and grass, and pedestrian paths have been moved into the flower garden. Urban equipment such as lighting systems, trash cans, and stone benches have been invested in synchronously, contributing to creating a new look for Dien Hong flower garden...
