The event marks a major step towards realizing important agreements: High-level agreement between the Government of Vietnam and the United States on cooperation in the fields of science, technology and semiconductors (September 2023); Agreement between the Government of Vietnam and NVIDIA Corporation (December 2024).

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated NVIDIA Corporation, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the National Innovation Center (NIC) for pioneering in responding to major policies of the Party and State on popularizing knowledge and training high-quality human resources in the field of AI, affirming that the Vietnam AI Academy Program is a typical cooperation model between the "three houses" - the State, schools and enterprises.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that this is a model that needs to be replicated, because it not only creates learning opportunities and access to technology for tens of thousands of students, but also closely links training - research - application, creating resonance between Vietnam's leading university - Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the world's largest technology corporation - NVIDIA Corporation and the core of the national innovation ecosystem - NIC.

In order for the program to be implemented effectively, sustainably and create a nationwide impact, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that NVIDIA Corporation continue to train, transfer knowledge, develop a team of AI experts meeting international standards; soon replicate the model of "Vietnam AI Academy" nationwide; expand investment cooperation, promote the role of the R&D Center and effectively exploit Vietnam's high-quality human resources.

For Hanoi University of Science and Technology, it is required to accelerate training and certification of lecturers according to international standards, integrate AI into the main curriculum, and strengthen cooperation with technology enterprises to improve digital capacity.

NIC needs to continue to promote its role as the "core" of the national innovation ecosystem; proactively connect institutes, schools, businesses, students, startups, etc. and support the development of a comprehensive AI ecosystem.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology is the only unit in Vietnam selected by NVIDIA to become an official Deep Learning Institute (DLI-EP) certification training partner. This is the result of more than a year of implementing NVIDIA's assessment process, Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially became a member of NVIDIA's international partner network (NPN - Nvidia Partner Network) on June 11.

Mr. Vu Manh Cuong - Director of Enterprise Customers, NVIDIA Vietnam - shared that NVIDIA's DLI certification training program has been successfully deployed to many students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Hanoi National University. Notably in Vietnam, NVIDIA has cooperated with FPT Corporation to complete training for 6,000 employees in 6 months. The positive results show that the program is very promising for training Vietnamese AI personnel.

The "Vietnam AI Academy" program is directly supported by NVIDIA with curriculum, certificates, software copyrights and DLI techniques, helping students access the world's most advanced AI technology. The program also receives strong support from NIC, BKAV Group and the business network in consulting on training policies, communication support, connecting domestic and international resources, etc.

Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang - Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology - emphasized that the program is not only expected to train high-quality AI human resources but also form a strong network of AI experts in Vietnam.

NVIDIA is an American multinational technology corporation that develops graphics processing units (GPUs) and manufactures chipsets for electronic devices such as workstations, personal computers, and mobile devices. Recently, Nvidia has asserted its position as the absolute leader in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) computing, providing computing power for most of the most advanced AI models in the world.

In December 2024, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang visited Vietnam for the second time and, together with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, witnessed the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between the Vietnamese Government and NVIDIA Corporation to establish an AI Research and Development Center and an AI Data Center in Vietnam.
