Javier Tebas is being accused by Barcelona |
On August 12, Galan submitted an official petition to the CSD and to President José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, requesting “the dismissal of Mr. Javier Tebas Medrano from his position as president of La Liga for having committed five very serious violations under article 76.2.a) of the Sports Law No. 10/1990, dated October 15, related to the violation of the duty of neutrality”.
According to Galan, Tebas has repeatedly disclosed internal financial information of Barca, affecting the reputation and interests of the club. Specifically, the first time happened on April 2 this year, when La Liga announced the decision not to allow Barca to carry out the "VIP Box" deal worth 100 million euros, even though it had previously approved it in December.
This decision was made based on the auditor's report of Barca. According to the complaint from Barcelona, after the reaction, the above information was also removed from the official website of La Liga. However, Barca did not send the report to CSD, but the president of CENAFE did this.
Galan then also alleged an exchange between Javier Tebas and Athletic Club Bilbao regarding the possibility of paying Nico Williams' release clause, in which Bilbao were given information about Barca's financial situation.
The fourth case comes from Tebas' public statements to the media, when he said that Barcelona "are not bound 1-1 in Fair Play", implying that the club is no longer too strict in financial regulations.
Finally, Mr. Tebas revealed the content of the letter sent to the CSD on March 28 regarding the Dani Olmo dispute. According to Galán, this action caused financial and reputational losses for Barcelona.
Thus, following previous incidents involving the president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Javier Tebas has now become the target of attacks by CENAFE. The final decision rests with the CSD, which is currently examining this dismissal request.
