This viewpoint has been clearly expressed in the National Strategy on application and development of blockchain technology to 2025, with a vision to 2030, issued together with Decision No. 1236/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, which was recently issued on October 22.

By 2030, Vietnam will become one of the leading countries in the region, with an international position in researching, applying and exploiting blockchain technology; capable of mastering and applying blockchain technology in all socio-economic fields, realizing the desire for Vietnam to become a stable and prosperous digital nation.

Accordingly, to achieve the goal by 2030, Vietnam needs to consolidate and expand the national blockchain infrastructure to provide services both domestically and internationally; issue standards on blockchain application and development in Vietnam; build 20 prestigious blockchain brands on platforms, products, and services based on blockchain technology in the region; maintain the operation of at least 03 blockchain technology testing centers/zones in major cities to form a national blockchain network. Have representatives in the Ranking of the top 10 blockchain training and research institutions in the Asia region...

Before that, in the short term (up to 2025), it is necessary to achieve the following goals: Firstly, to establish a foundation for blockchain technology development with the formation of a Vietnamese blockchain infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulations; promote research and development of blockchain technology applications at 03 national innovation centers; build and upgrade 10 research and training facilities to develop a human resource development strategy for blockchain technology; blockchain technology is included in the training program framework at universities, colleges, vocational schools, research facilities, etc.

The second is to promote and enhance the application of blockchain technology, including selecting and establishing at least 01 blockchain center/special zone/testing area to form a national blockchain network; forming a "Blockchain+" ecosystem through the application of blockchain technology in industries and fields...

To solve this problem, it is necessary to synchronously implement solutions on: building and perfecting the legal framework; developing infrastructure to form a blockchain industrial ecosystem; developing human resources for the blockchain field; promoting application and market development; promoting research, innovation and international cooperation in the blockchain field.

In Vietnam, blockchain is gradually becoming popular but the position and role of this technology have not been properly assessed. Therefore, this Strategy will contribute to providing a more complete and in-depth view of blockchain technology so that it can fully promote its role in the context of increasingly deep digital transformation, contributing to improving economic efficiency, promoting the process of industrialization and modernization of the country. The strategic goals until 2025 and beyond, until 2030 on blockchain technology will be a solid foundation to enhance Vietnam's position in the region and in the international arena, opening up many new opportunities for the digital economy and promoting national competitiveness.
