According to the students' feedback, Ms. L. organized extra classes but some students in the class did not attend the class. Therefore, the teacher texted the students.

As soon as he learned of the incident, Mr. Nguyen Tan Si, Principal of Nguyen Van Linh High School, confirmed that this was indeed a reflection from the school's students about Ms. L. - a 12th grade chemistry teacher. Mr. Sy asked Ms. L. to explain the incident. The female teacher explained that at the beginning of the school year, she received an assignment from the school to teach chemistry and be the homeroom teacher of class 12A1. The class created a common Zalo group consisting of class members and the teacher.

During the beginning of the school year, through discussions with the teacher who taught the class the previous year, Ms. L. realized that the students were still weak and had lost knowledge after the summer, so she advised them to take extra subjects that were oriented towards graduation exams, to facilitate their entrance into the desired university - they could study at a center or with a few other teachers.

Ms. L. added that, according to the general learning situation of the class, she both taught and supplemented the 11th grade knowledge for the students, so she discussed with the class that with the allocated time, she only had time to teach the basic lessons, the exercises and advanced knowledge could not be taught in time.

The principal of Nguyen Van Linh High School has asked Ms. L. to stop teaching extra classes that are not in accordance with regulations, and to seriously learn from her experience in communicating and speaking with students.

On the other hand, due to violations of regulations on extra teaching and learning, L. was only evaluated as having completed the task in the third quarter of 2024. With this evaluation, the teacher will not receive additional income for this quarter.

At Vo Thi Sau Primary School, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, parents of class 2/9 reported that the class collected 1 million VND from the parent fund for each person, but the spending was not for the right purpose.

Upon learning of the incident, Mr. Phan Thanh Phong, the school principal, said he had convened a meeting between the school leadership, the homeroom teacher of class 2/9, and the class's parent representatives.

At the meeting, the head of the parents' representative committee of grade 2/9 admitted that the plan was to collect 1 million VND from each parent, and that the budget had many contents that were not in accordance with Circular 55, including expenses for teachers, nannies, and classroom repairs.

“What happened is very regrettable, I have asked the Board of Representatives to return the collected money to the parents. We agreed not to call for contributions from the parent-teacher association. In the first parent meeting of the year, I also informed all teachers and parents that the school does not collect any funds from parents,” said Mr. Phong. The parent-teacher association of class 2/9 students apologized to the school and the homeroom teacher for letting the incident happen.

As principal, Mr. Phong himself also has responsibility and "I will be stricter in my work" - the principal said.

Currently, on social networks there are many groups and forums where parents and students can express their opinions, especially on the issue of overcharging at the beginning of the year and the issue of extra teaching and learning.
