(NLDO) - The Prime Minister requested to promote tasks and solutions to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation with other countries.
On the afternoon of March 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a Government meeting to assess the regional and global economic situation, remove difficulties and obstacles, and propose tasks and solutions to promote economic growth of 8% or more by 2025 and double digits in the following years.

At the meeting, Government members discussed and assessed the domestic and international situation, and made comments on opportunities and challenges in the coming time. The meeting also focused on assessing changes in economic and tariff policies in some countries that have impacted the economy, especially global import and export, including Vietnam.
Government members believe that achieving the growth target of 8% in 2025 and double digits in the following years is a very heavy task. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to remove institutional and legal obstacles; and to unblock and mobilize all resources for development.
The opinions discussed at the meeting also agreed on the need to remove difficulties and obstacles for the real estate and corporate bond markets, and promote the credit market. At the same time, it is necessary to boost exports, expand markets, and make the most of signed free trade agreements.
Emphasizing the GDP growth target of 8% or more in 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that priority must be given to promoting growth, but macroeconomic stability must be maintained, inflation must be controlled, major economic balances must be ensured, and progress, social equity, social security, and the environment must be ensured.
The Prime Minister directed to focus on three strategic breakthroughs including perfecting institutions, infrastructure and training high-quality human resources, towards "open institutions, smooth infrastructure, smart governance and human resources". Along with that, renewing traditional growth drivers such as investment, export and consumption; at the same time promoting new growth drivers.
Regarding public investment, the Prime Minister requested to accelerate, especially key projects and works, financial centers, free trade zones, railway connection projects, high-speed railways, nuclear power plants, etc.
The Head of Government believes that economic cooperation with foreign countries plays an important role, contributing to promoting economic growth of 8% in 2025 and double digits in the following years.
Therefore, the Prime Minister paid special attention to the tasks and solutions to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation with other countries. In particular, focusing on further promoting trade and investment cooperation with partners, especially major partners such as China, the US, Europe, Japan, South Korea, etc.
The Prime Minister requested to continue to closely monitor and grasp developments in the situation, respond and respond promptly, appropriately, flexibly and effectively to each market, especially in the context of changes in economic and tariff policies of countries.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister assigned relevant ministries and branches to develop plans to balance trade with major partners, pay attention to exploiting and supplementing shortages, and support each other; review taxes, especially those of major partners, to adjust if necessary and in line with the interests of all parties...
Ministries, sectors, especially localities, are required to promptly resolve the remaining problems of foreign partners, especially major trade partners; create conditions for foreign enterprises to expand investment and business to expand the supply chain in Vietnam, helping Vietnam participate deeply in the supply chain of foreign enterprises; and resolve and put an end to issues related to work permits and visas. Ministries, sectors and localities need to listen, be receptive, and effectively resolve the legitimate suggestions and proposals of enterprises and partners.
