Traffic diversion for international visitors to Vietnam

On June 19-20, 2024, Hanoi will host activities to welcome international delegations to Vietnam for a State visit.

To ensure security, safety and smooth traffic flow to protect international guests; Hanoi City Police will divide traffic and organize directions for vehicles as follows:

Accordingly, from 7:00 a.m. on June 19 to 10:00 p.m. on June 20, passenger transport and freight transport vehicles (except for vehicles with security badges, buses, environmental sanitation vehicles, vehicles handling and troubleshooting incidents; fixed-route passenger vehicles) will be temporarily banned on a number of traffic routes under the orders and instructions of the authorities.

Restrictions on private cars and motorbikes operating on traffic routes in the following districts: Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem, Dong Anh, Soc Son, Me Linh.

During the above time, Hanoi Police organize directions for vehicles under temporary ban and restriction as follows:

Vehicles from the Eastern and Southeastern provinces (Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Hai Duong...) to the Southern provinces: Take Thanh Tri - Phap Van bridge - to the Southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam...) and vice versa.

On June 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that, at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Vietnam from June 19-20.

Vehicles from the Eastern and Southeastern provinces (Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Hai Duong...) to the Northern provinces (Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen...): Take National Highway 5 - Thanh Tri Bridge - Phu Dong Bridge - National Highway 3 to go to the Northern provinces and vice versa.

Vehicles from the southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam...) to the northern provinces (Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen...) follow the route Phap Van - Ngoc Hoi - Phan Trong Tue - Phung Hung - Xa La - Van Phu - Le Trong Tan - provincial road 70 - Nhon - national road 32 - Vinh Thinh bridge (or Trung Ha bridge) - to the northern provinces (Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen,...) and vice versa.

Vehicles are restricted from going on Ring Road III (from Nguyen Trai - Khuat Duy Tien intersection to Vo Van Kiet).

For other routes and vehicles, comply with regulations on the operation of vehicles in Hanoi city issued by competent authorities.

Hanoi police require traffic participants to strictly comply with the Road Traffic Law. When encountering priority vehicles signaling priority on duty, they must promptly change direction to the nearest level crossing or intersection according to the instructions of the authorities to give way to the priority vehicles.

As President of Russia, Mr. Putin visited Vietnam four times in 2001, 2006 and 2013. In 2017 alone, Russian President Putin visited Da Nang to attend the APEC Summit 2017 and other activities within the framework of the APEC Summit 2017.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit took place at a time when the two countries were celebrating the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Fundamental Principles of Friendly Relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Russian Federation (June 16, 1994 - June 16, 2024).

In their congratulatory letters, the leaders of the two countries affirmed that the Treaty on the Fundamental Principles of the Friendly Relations between Vietnam and Russia is a historical document of great significance, symbolizing the beginning of a new stage in the development of multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, creating the premise for bringing the relationship between the two countries to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
