Vietnam is extremely concerned about the information that China has deployed military equipment on Tri Ton Island and strongly protests all activities that violate Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago.

On the afternoon of October 31, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, answering reporters' questions regarding information that China deployed military equipment on Tri Ton Island, Hoang Sa archipelago (Vietnam), Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Doan Khac Viet said that Vietnam is extremely concerned about this information and strongly opposes all activities that violate Vietnam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa archipelago.

Vietnam is determined to protect its sovereignty by peaceful means, in accordance with international law, especially the United Nations Charter and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea./.
