On the morning of October 30, in Sa Nam village (Vinh Long commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri), a motorbike shop in Ho Xa town provided free mobile motorbike inspections for people in flooded areas.
In the past 3 days, 600 households in Vinh Long commune were deeply flooded. In addition to the damage to houses and property, the flooded motorbike left people without any means of transportation.
Starting from supporting the people, this motorbike shop mobilized 5 mechanics and 5 employees, along with supplies and spare parts to Sa Nam village to support the people.
Motorcycles are thoroughly inspected, the fuel tank, engine, air filter, electrical system, etc. are flushed if water has entered. This shop offers free labor for customers, and replacement parts are at cost price. For vehicles that are too damaged to be repaired on site, the staff will transport them to the shop for free.
Ms. Le Thi Tuyet - shop manager - said that repairing flooded motorbikes costs the most in terms of labor, because it requires multiple and careful rinsing. "The shop can give people a bottle of oil, but that doesn't solve the problem of flooded motorbikes," Ms. Tuyet said.
In the morning, this store received more than 100 motorbikes from people.

Bringing his car in for repair, Mr. Le Ba Tri said the water was 40cm deep into his house, and the yard was even deeper. "That day, the water rose quickly in 2-3 hours, so there was no time to move property, and tons of rice were flooded," said Mr. Tri.
His motorbike got wet and wouldn't start. After "examining", the staff changed the air filter and oil for Mr. Tri's motorbike.
"The store's support is so good that people have a means of transportation, otherwise their cars wouldn't start and there wouldn't be a car to take them to town for repair," said Mr. Tri.
Mr. Tran Quoc Luong - Chairman of Vinh Long Commune People's Committee - said that floodwaters caused 600 households in the commune to be submerged. Currently, the water has receded, and people are cleaning up mud and cleaning their houses to stabilize their lives.
The rain caused by storm Tra Mi flooded more than 2,500 houses in Quang Tri, mainly in Vinh Linh district. In addition, there were other damages to traffic, agriculture, riverbank erosion, etc.
