Hearing crying in the middle of the night, went to the gate and found a baby boy with the umbilical cord still intact.

On the afternoon of September 19, Mr. Nguyen Van Dao, Head of the Health Station of Hung Trung Commune, Hung Nguyen District, Nghe An Province, said that the unit had just received and treated an abandoned newborn baby.

According to Mr. Dao, at around 10:30 p.m. on September 18, a family in Hamlet 5, Hung Trung Commune discovered the incident when they heard a child crying outside the gate.

When they went out, the family discovered a naked baby with a towel at the foot of the gate post. Mr. Dao's family reported the incident to the Hung Trung Commune Health Station. Afterwards, the doctor at the Health Station came to take the baby to the headquarters for examination and care.

"When discovered, the baby was naked with only a blue towel. Upon examination, it was found to be a newborn baby boy, with an intact umbilical cord and weighing 2.5kg. Examination showed that the baby showed no signs of abnormalities, ate and slept well, and had rosy skin," said Mr. Dao.

The child is being cared for at the Hung Trung Commune Health Station. The local authorities have announced that they are looking for the child's relatives. If after a week no relatives come to claim the child, the local authorities will carry out procedures according to the law.
