On June 14, People's Artist Huu Quoc posted an article expressing his sadness and disappointment when the program Cai Luong Academy broadcast a performance using his song without permission.
Specifically, in the latest episode, the program broadcast the contest performance "The love story of the Dieu Bong leaves" by contestant Nguyen Hong Bao Ngoc. In the author section, the program listed the names of two people: Quoc Quyen and Ha Nam Quang (the correct name is Quoc Nguyen - aka People's Artist Huu Quoc - PV).

Immediately afterwards, the Cai Luong Academy responded that the crew felt regretful about the incident and affirmed that they always take copyright issues in the show seriously.
According to the Organizing Committee, the above performance was chosen by the contestants themselves. The program has an editorial department that works directly with the contestants to check copyright issues. However, there were still mistakes that led to the unfortunate incident.
"As producers, we take responsibility for this. We sincerely apologize to the author and have contacted People's Artist Huu Quoc to handle the issue and pay royalties according to regulations, but have yet to receive a response," the program said.
BTC has now removed the above performance on all program platforms.

This move by the program crew did not receive approval from People's Artist Huu Quoc. He said he had received a message from an assistant of the program apologizing, removing the post, and requesting to pay royalties according to regulations. However, the artist did not respond because he felt disrespected.
"I will not accept so-called royalties to force me to stay silent. I speak up to protect other authors so that programs like this do not overtake them," People's Artist Huu Quoc said.
People's Artist Huu Quoc believes that from a professional perspective, the organizing units must be responsible for each performance, big or small, broadcast in the program.
"I am also someone who has worked on many game shows. When a performance is staged, the Editorial Board must confirm whether the performance has been requested by the author and must be confirmed in writing with the author's signature and consent. In case the author has passed away, the author's family must agree. If there is no written consent, the contestant must change to another performance with the author's consent," People's Artist Huu Quoc added.
People's Artist Huu Quoc was born in 1974, is a familiar face on the stage of reformed opera and drama.
This is not the first time the Cai Luong Academy program has been embroiled in controversy. Previously, a performance in episode 8 of the program was criticized for its sensitive lyrics.
Specifically, contestant Bao Ngoc sang: "Why didn't you use a condom, so that things could get worse now?" Thai Hung Thien replied: "Why didn't you stop it decisively or you should have diligently taken birth control pills to let everything settle down." The lyrics were criticized as being sensitive, tactless, and inappropriate for inclusion in a reformed opera performance.
