Cadres and members of the Veterans Association in Hamlet 3, Xa Phien Commune were excited when handing over and putting into use the 18m long rural traffic bridge.
Veteran Nguyen Van Suong in So Dua Lon hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune, was moved when he received a new house of more than 40 square meters with the support of 50 million VND from the locality and the Veterans Association of the commune. Mr. Suong's family is near-poor and he used to join the local guerrilla force.
“My children and I are very happy to have a solid house. With such attention from the local Party Committee and government, we have to try harder to stabilize our lives and contribute to building our homeland,” Mr. Suong shared.
Welcoming the 1st Party Congress of the commune, term 2025-2030, Thanh Xuan handed over 2 gratitude houses and built a beautiful road. Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thanh Xuan commune, said: "Supporting the War Veterans Association members with housing is a humane gesture of gratitude. We hope that the families will be more confident in life, continue to live well, live beautifully, and develop together with the locality".
The Association of War Veterans in Vi Thanh Ward has just expanded the model of "Flag and Flower Route" on Provincial Road 931 in Area 6. On this road section of more than 1.6km long, 120 flagpoles were installed and more than 360 new yellow trumpet trees and yellow trumpet trees were planted... The total cost of implementation was nearly 53 million VND from contributions from War Veterans Association members and socialization.
“We do small things but they have great meaning. The road will be more beautiful when people raise awareness of hanging flags on holidays and Tet. This makes us even more proud of our hometown’s traditions,” said Mr. Tran Thanh Dung, a member of the Veterans Association of Vi Thanh Ward.
In Xa Phien, the Commune Veterans Association left a clear mark with the handover and putting into use a rural traffic bridge 18m long, 2m wide in Hamlet 3. The Commune Veterans Association also coordinated to build a solar-powered street, combined with the model "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe road" in Hamlet 7 from a socialized fund of nearly 50 million VND.
Mr. Pham Van Toan, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Xa Phien Commune, said: “Looking towards the Party Congresses at all levels, we clearly identify each member as an active core. Although the projects are not large, they are practical gifts to the Party, demonstrating the exemplary and pioneering role of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in building new rural areas.”
Each action, each specific task is an affirmation that at any stage, war veterans continue to contribute to building their homeland to be increasingly innovative and sustainably developed.
