On November 9, the Sudanese government denied accusations from the US about blocking the transportation of humanitarian aid to people affected by internal conflicts.

To demonstrate its commitment to humanitarian assistance, the Sudan Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) has released impressive figures over the past 10 months (January 1 to November 6): it has issued 12,170 travel permits to aid organizations, allowed 1,073 trucks to pass through the Adre and Tina border crossings, and approved 2,985 entry visas for international aid workers. The total value of government support in the form of tax and customs exemptions, aid transportation, and procurement of supplies has exceeded $600 million.

Previously, on November 6, US Special Envoy Tom Perriello posted information on social network X accusing HAC of preventing 520 out of 550 trucks carrying relief goods from leaving Port Sudan for distribution to states across the country.

Also on November 6, the Sudanese government sent a humanitarian aid convoy to three states in the central part of the country, where thousands of people have been displaced from the Gezira region in the east due to fighting between the Sudanese army (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Speaking to reporters, Sudan's humanitarian aid commissioner Salwa Adam Benya said the convoy departed from Port Sudan in Red Sea state, carrying 1,437 tonnes of flour, 2,000 tents, 2,000 food baskets and 1,000 blankets to assist displaced people currently sheltering in Shendi area in River Nile state, Halfa Al-Jadida area in Kassala state and Al Fao area in Gedaref state.

According to the latest estimates from international organizations, the conflict between the SAF and RSF that broke out in Sudan since mid-April 2023 has killed more than 24,850 people and forced millions of others to flee within the country's territory or to seek refuge in neighboring countries.
