In the spring crop of 2024, the Son Duong District Agricultural Service Center in collaboration with Thai Binh Golden Seed Joint Stock Company and Tu Thinh Commune put into trial planting a purebred rice variety production model of 36 golden grains in Cau Quat village, with a scale of 0.7 ha, with 6 households participating. Through monitoring and evaluation in the spring crop of 2024, it was found that the rice plants grew and developed well, the plants were strong, the variety had quite good tillering, pests and diseases were insignificant (during the production process, farmers did not have to use pesticides), the variety emerged and emerged relatively concentrated within 5 days, the average plant height reached 110 - 115 cm. The growing period is 115 - 120 days, it is a short-term variety suitable for the crop structure in Son Duong and has a wide adaptability, the yield reached 70 to 75 quintals/ha.

The super drought-tolerant hybrid rice variety ADI 73 has been tested in Xuan Quang commune (Chiem Hoa) with high yield.

Ms. Ma Thi Dinh, Cau Quat village, Tu Thinh commune (Son Duong) said that after 3 months of care and monitoring, she found that the 36-golden grain rice variety has a growth period of 115 days, with a fairly high grain filling rate. During the care process, the rice variety is less susceptible to pests and diseases, especially brown planthoppers, and no signs of rice blast disease have been seen. When planting other rice varieties, in good harvest years, Ms. Dinh's family harvests an average of about 2.2 quintals of rice per sao. With the 36-golden grain rice variety, which produces large panicles and a high grain filling rate, Ms. Dinh hopes that the harvest will yield about 2.4 quintals per sao. If this rice variety is included in the seed structure in Tuyen Quang province, her family will definitely choose it for planting next season.

In order to gradually introduce high-quality rice varieties into production, in the spring crop of 2024, the Chiem Hoa District Agricultural Service Center has coordinated with ADI Agricultural Investment, Trade and Development Joint Stock Company to introduce Phu Uu hybrid rice variety No. 1 (brand name ADI 73) in Xuan Quang commune and Hai Duong Plant Variety Center to introduce pure SHPT3 rice variety in Yen Nguyen commune. Through monitoring, the SHPT3 pure rice variety model has a spring crop growth period of 130 - 135 days, an average plant height of 110 - 115 cm, concentrated tillering, quick flowering, high field purity, the variety has good cold resistance; is slightly susceptible to some pests and diseases such as: blast, leaf blight, brown planthoppers...; the rice is clear, not chalky, the rice is delicious, soft, sticky, and has a rich flavor; the average yield is 6.5 tons/ha.

Participating in the implementation of the Phu Uu hybrid rice variety No. 1 (ADI 73) model in the spring crop of 2024, Ms. Pham Thi Huong's family in Na Cooc village, Xuan Quang commune planted over 2,000 m2. Through evaluation, the ADI 73 hybrid rice variety has a beautiful shape, good tillering, concentrated flowering, large, long flowers, many grains, bright yellow color, drought-resistant, strong plants, good lodging resistance, mild infection with leaf rollers, stem borers, brown planthoppers; long, clear rice, soft, sticky, delicious; average yield reached 78 quintals/ha. In this year's crop, her family planted over 3,000 m2 of this rice variety.

Need to buy rice varieties with clear origin

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim, Deputy Director of the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, said that in order to gradually structure hybrid rice varieties and high-yield, high-quality purebred rice varieties into production, the agricultural sector annually creates favorable conditions for seed production companies to build models for testing new rice varieties. Thereby, evaluating the results of testing new rice varieties with high yield, good quality and suitable for soil and climate conditions in the regions of the province and adding them to the province's rice variety set. From there, gradually replacing purebred rice varieties with low yield and quality, poor resistance to pests and diseases and low economic efficiency.

Along with building experimental models of new rice varieties, to improve rice production efficiency, localities focus on building concentrated rice production areas in the organic direction, gradually building rice brands in localities. In addition, the agricultural sector reviews and converts the structure of hybrid rice varieties to suit the advantages, market demand and adapt to climate change in each locality.
