On April 17, the Investigation Police Agency of Ia Grai District Police, Gia Lai Province, issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Thi Bao Ngoc (34 years old) and Phan Thi Thao (29 years old), both civil servants of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ia Grai District, for the crime of "Receiving bribes".
In addition, the authorities also prosecuted Ms. Duong Quynh Trang (32 years old, residing in Ia Grai district) to investigate the act of "Giving bribes".
Previously, the police had received information from people accusing Ms. Ngoc and Ms. Thao of receiving money to quickly complete the application for land use right certificates.
According to the initial investigation, Ms. Duong Quynh Trang is a broker who has repeatedly given money to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Ngoc and Phan Thi Thao to complete procedures for granting certificates of land use rights. The amount each time is over 2 million VND/file.
The case is under further investigation and expansion.
Previously, also in Gia Lai, the provincial police prosecuted and temporarily detained Le Canh Phu, Director of the Land Registration Office of Ia Grai district, to investigate the act of "Receiving bribes".
Mr. Phu used to hold the position of Head of Registration and Certificate Issuance Department - Gia Lai Provincial Land Registration Office.
The arrest of Mr. Phu is the result of an expanded investigation into the case of Mr. Do Minh Hieu (born in 1989, residing in Pleiku City), a contract employee of the Gia Lai Province Land Registration Office, for receiving bribes.
According to the initial investigation, from 2020-2022, Mr. Hieu took advantage of his position to receive money from hundreds of people to prepare documents and quickly issue land use right certificates. For each document, Mr. Do Minh Hieu received from several hundred thousand VND to more than 1 million VND.
