A young talent of traditional music has passed away, leaving behind many beautiful ambitions and projects accompanying the Huynh Long Traditional Opera Troupe.

According to artist Bach Nga, Vu Minh Hieu had a heart condition. On the afternoon of August 7, he participated in a rehearsal of the traditional opera "That Tien Nu" to prepare for the August 19 performance at Hong Lien Theater. After that, when he was leaving, he fainted and was taken to the Ho Chi Minh City Tropical Hospital by his colleagues.

"Despite the doctors' best efforts to save him, Vu Minh Hieu did not survive. He had been pale and weak for many months. Vu Minh Hieu's passing is a great loss for the Huynh Long classical opera troupe," said artist Bach Nga.

Artist Binh Tinh once said that musician Vu Minh Hieu was from Soc Trang. During a performance in this province, she discovered Vu Minh Hieu's talent for playing many musical instruments. Artist Binh Tinh immediately invited Vu Minh Hieu to join the troupe to train him to become a musician specializing in composing and performing traditional opera music.

Recently, musician Vu Minh Hieu participated in a tour in France and several Western European countries with the Huynh Long Traditional Opera Troupe. Musician Vu Minh Hieu's father is stage artist Vu Thanh An.

It can be said that after musician Thanh Chau (artist Binh Tinh's uncle) passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Huynh Long Traditional Opera Troupe was disappointed due to the lack of human resources in the traditional orchestra. "Vu Minh Hieu is a talented musician, he is very smart, he only needs the director to tell him about the staging ideas and musical effects to put into each performance and he can do it right away. We had high hopes for his advancement and that he would become a pillar musician of the troupe, but he passed away too soon, leaving a big void in our troupe" - artist Binh Tinh emotionally said.

Musician Duy Khanh - son of the late Meritorious Artist Vuy Goc, said: "Currently, the traditional orchestra is lacking young talent. Vu Minh Hieu was a new talent that we had a lot of faith in because he had the potential to go further, but then he passed away."

Vu Minh Hieu is considered a talented musician.

On their personal pages, many artists expressed their emotions upon hearing the news of musician Vu Minh Hieu's passing. Meritorious Artist Ngoc Huyen wrote: "A gentle, talented young musician but his fate was short, so heartbreaking". Artist Hua Minh Dat wrote: "Vu Minh Hieu was a small, cute, agile, patient, hard-working and very good at his job... just working with you to prepare for the long journey... the jokes are still unfinished... the promises are still unfinished... but why now... you can't overcome fate... it's true... life is so unpredictable... I love you so much Hieu...".

Artist Tran Huynh Ngoc wrote: "Rest in peace!!! In life, sometimes we cannot avoid upsetting each other and we have just been happy again for a few days, still missing a happy conversation... but then you have gone, rest in peace!".

The funeral of musician Vu Minh Hieu will be held at Nhon Hoa Communal House on August 8 and 9, then according to the family's wishes, the body will be moved to Soc Trang province.
