Vietnamese Runners Run More and More Strategically
The running movement in Vietnam is flourishing more than ever. From vibrant street races in the heart of the city to challenging trails, every year there are dozens of events attracting a large number of participants - from runners who are just starting out to experienced "runners". This sport has gone beyond the limits of a simple exercise activity, and is becoming a symbol of an active, positive lifestyle that many Vietnamese people are determined to pursue.
According to Garmin Connect 2024 data compiled from Garmin users in 50 countries, Vietnamese runners have impressive numbers: an average of 35.6 km/week (higher than the global average of 33.47 km), each run is 9.2 km long (global average of 8.5 km), and the longest run is 31.7 km (compared to 30.7 km globally). These are not only longer runs, but also a testament to perseverance and discipline in training. Notably, the number of Garmin users in Vietnam has surpassed 480,000, a 50% increase over the same period last year - the highest rate in Garmin's Asia- Pacific region.
All of the above facts confirm that Vietnamese runners are maintaining a training volume and quality that exceeds world standards, with serious investment not only to improve performance, but also to stick with this sport for a long time as an essential part of life.

Proactively invest in a healthy lifestyle
As running becomes a part of their lifestyle, runners are more proactive in finding reputable playgrounds and training communities to maintain motivation, expand their experiences and conquer new milestones. This not only provides opportunities to challenge themselves, but also creates an environment for them to connect, learn and inspire each other.
Along with the spirit, runners invest heavily in tools to support monitoring and analyzing the training process. Specialized devices such as the Garmin Forerunner smartwatch line are considered "weapons" for running enthusiasts, helping runners understand their bodies, adjust their plans and optimize their performance through features such as PacePro, Running Economy, Step Speed Loss, Recovery Time... thereby adjusting their training strategies scientifically and improving their performance.

And when ready both physically and strategically, runners seek out prestigious races to test their results and continue to conquer new challenges. For example, Garmin Run Vietnam is considered one of the most exciting "meeting places" for the running community this coming October.
Following the success of Longbien Garmin Run in Hanoi, this year, this Asian-scale running race will officially "land" at Sala Urban Area - Ho Chi Minh City on October 5, with three distances of 5K, 10K and 21K and the Couple Run category (running together) introduced for the first time - bringing a new bonding experience for couples, friends or relatives.
More than just a race, Garmin Run Vietnam 2025 also brings a “sports festival” with a series of exciting activities at Expo Day such as experiencing the latest devices from Garmin, meeting coaches/elite runners/celebrities, and interactive booths from partner brands such as aminoVITAL®, Starlux Airlines, Shokz, Pocari Sweat, Motive and KINE Rehab. All will be integrated into the most explosive event of October - promising to become the biggest “meeting place” of the Asian running community right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition to organizing large playgrounds, Garmin also accompanies runners through Garmin Run Club in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. With a systematic and scientific training schedule, the club provides regular training sessions, including running techniques, speed strength training (interval), speed endurance (tempo), as well as long runs with direct guidance from professional coaches, helping runners improve performance, build scientific and sustainable training habits.
Visit here to register and start your journey to conquer the hottest race of October, making running a sustainable part of your lifestyle.
