More than 20 years since the construction of the first cable-stayed bridge, Vietnamese engineers and workers have reached international standards and mastered cable-stayed construction technology at My Thuan 2 Bridge.
The first cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam - My Thuan Bridge across Tien River, connecting Tien Giang Province with Vinh Long, was built in 1997, partly funded by the Australian Government. At that time, this was a large-scale, high-tech project, with all design, supervision and construction carried out by foreign enterprises. On the Vietnamese side, only Cienco 6 participated as a subcontractor. When completed in 2000, My Thuan Bridge created an architectural and landscape highlight on Tien River.
