Ta Thao Anh (Grade 11 English 1, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted): Understanding more about the value of sharing

The first time I participated in a social project was during the summer vacation after my high school entrance exam. At that time, I had a lot of time and wanted to use it for a good purpose. Therefore, I turned to social projects to spend time helping people around me, doing something useful for society, and at the same time accumulating more experience in life.

I have participated in many projects related to education and supporting people in difficult circumstances. Specifically, I have helped students in difficult circumstances in their studies as well as organized community activities to raise awareness of social issues.

I also participate in environmental protection campaigns such as cleaning up trash and promoting the reduction of plastic use.

I remember most the time I participated in a volunteer event to support children in mountainous areas who have many difficulties in studying. My group and I organized a study and play session for the children. The smiles of the children made me feel very happy and proud to have done something useful.

These experiences help me better understand the value of sharing and helping others, especially the less fortunate in society.

In addition, I also learned how to work effectively in a team, improved my communication and problem-solving skills. This not only enriched my life but also made me more aware of the responsibility and change that each individual can create.

This year, I plan to continue participating in social activities, organizing educational projects to help children have more opportunities to learn and develop; expanding environmental protection activities, especially propaganda sessions and calling on the community to join hands to protect the living environment.

Tran Minh Tuan (Grade 10 History 1, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted): Cherish what you have

In grade 10, I wanted to participate in social activities. The first activity I participated in was helping students in the transfer exam. I felt happy and joyful with the small things I contributed.

During the recent Lunar New Year, I had the opportunity to learn how to make Banh Chung and sit around the fire with my friends in the project to boil the cakes. Early the next morning, we brought the cakes around the streets to give to those who have a hard life.

That is our heart and wishes to the workers, hoping they have a meaningful and warm Tet.

Participating in social activities, I learned the meaning of sharing, empathy and the joy of giving love to the community. After these profound experiences, I appreciate more what I have and sympathize more with the less fortunate.
