Which country's people travel the most in the world?

Our World in Data shows that Luxembourg citizens travel the most in the world. According to experts, the high standard of living and the country's landlocked location between France, Germany and Belgium make it convenient for citizens to travel across the country.

On average, a Luxembourger makes 4.3 international trips per year.

In the ranking of the world's most powerful passports 2025 by Henley Passport Index announced on January 8, Luxembourg passport is in the top 4.

Citizens of this country are allowed to enter without a visa in advance or only need a visa on arrival, an electronic travel permit or an e-visa in 191 countries and territories. This is also one of the reasons that motivates Luxembourgers to travel more and all year round.
