Leading us on the newly expanded road, Mr. Le Huu Lan, NCUT of Van Thuong village, Cat Van commune, could not hide his joy at the changes in his hometown. Mr. Lan said that the traffic project from Hoa Quy commune to Cat Van commune encountered many difficulties when it first started. Because some households did not understand the benefits that the project would bring, they still felt "regretful" that the growing acacia area had to be harvested early.

Mr. Lan shared: “To create consensus among the people, propaganda work is extremely important. With my role and responsibility, I regularly coordinate with the village development committee to go to each house to propagate and mobilize people to understand the benefits that the project brings. Promoting the spirit of setting an example, my family took the lead, voluntarily donating over 200 square meters of land, including many acacia trees and fruit trees that were ready for harvest. I am very happy that the people agreed and voluntarily donated thousands of square meters of land to expand the traffic route.”

In the era of “every inch of land is gold”, mobilizing people to donate land is not an easy task. However, with the strong determination of the Party Committee and the government of Cat Van commune, especially the role of the NCUT team in the commune in propaganda and mobilization, it has helped people understand the benefits of the roads that have been invested and built, contributing to the development of the locality. Mr. Le Van Than, Vice Chairman of Cat Van Commune People's Committee, affirmed: "The NCUT team in Cat Van commune's ethnic minorities is the core force in propagating and mobilizing people to donate land to expand roads and implement traffic projects through the area. Notably, the traffic project from Hoa Quy commune to Cat Van commune, people donated over 15,000m2 of land; the traffic project from Yen Cat inner city to Cat Van commune, people donated over 5,000m2 of land. The roads that have been and are being invested in and built will create favorable conditions for the locality to develop more in the coming time".

Similarly, Ms. Le Thi Luan, NCUT of Cat Xuan village, Cat Tan commune, has always been a shining example of "practice and words" for the people in the village to follow. Over the years, she has worked with the local Party Committee and government to do a good job of propaganda and mobilizing the people to develop the economy, build a cultural life, reconcile conflicts and disputes, contribute to uniting the community, especially implementing the movement of donating land and expanding roads.

Ms. Le Thi Luan shared: “I always keep in mind that to make people believe and follow, I must first be a leading example. Therefore, when there was a policy to implement the traffic project from Yen Cat town to Cat Tan and Cat Van communes, my family voluntarily donated 70 square meters of land and cut down some trees that were being harvested to implement the project. Along with the pioneering and exemplary role of some other party members, up to now many families have agreed to donate hundreds of square meters of land so that the road will be widened from 6m to 12m in the near future.”

Mr. Lan and Ms. Luan are two of many outstanding NCUTs in Nhu Xuan district who have fulfilled their roles and responsibilities well when elected by the people. Not only are they shining examples of pioneers in donating their family land, but they also actively mobilize their relatives and neighbors to donate land, donate works, and contribute labor to participate in road construction. Thanks to them, the land donation movement is increasingly spreading among the people.

Continuing the success, Nhu Xuan district continues to mobilize the participation of the entire political system and promote the NCUT team in implementing Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated July 12, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on "The campaign to mobilize people to donate land to invest in renovating, upgrading, and improving infrastructure, focusing on roads in rural and urban areas in the province in a synchronous and modern direction".

Since implementing Directive No. 24-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the entire district has mobilized 563 households to voluntarily donate 214,600m2. Thanks to that, many roads with a length of tens of kilometers in the district have been expanded, renovated, and newly built. This is a favorable condition for Nhu Xuan district to successfully implement the goals of the 2024-2025 period, mobilizing people to donate land to build more than 37km of rural roads in the area. Thereby, making practical contributions to the process of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas in Nhu Xuan district.
