South Korean, French foreign ministers pledge to cooperate on key international issues

South Korea and France pledged to cooperate on important international issues, including those related to North Korea and Ukraine.

On November 11, the South Korean Foreign Ministry announced that during talks with his French counterpart Catherine Colonna in Paris on November 10 (local time), Foreign Minister Park Jin discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.

According to the announcement, Mr. Park briefed Ms. Colonna on Seoul's efforts for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia.

Foreign Minister Park Jin also expressed hope that South Korea and France will strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of space and nuclear energy.

For her part, Ms. Colonna expressed her full support for South Korea’s efforts for regional peace. According to her, high-level exchanges between the two countries serve as a solid foundation for promoting cooperation.

The two top diplomats also exchanged views on the strategic importance of the Indo- Pacific region and agreed to cooperate closely on important international issues, including those related to North Korea and Ukraine, the statement said.
