Resolution on the arrangement of administrative units of 21 provinces and centrally-run cities

(TN&MT) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man signed and issued Resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district- and commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period of 21 provinces and centrally run cities.


Provinces and cities include: Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Bac Lieu, Bac Ninh, Ben Tre, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Ca Mau, Da Nang, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Kien Giang, Lang Son, Lam Dong, Long An, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa and Yen Bai.

Accordingly, the province with the largest decrease in the number of district-level administrative units is Lam Dong; the provinces and cities with the largest decrease in the number of commune-level administrative units are Hai Phong, Nghe An, and Hai Duong.

Specifically, in Resolution No. 1245/NQ-UBTVQH15, the National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to rearrange Cat Tien, Da Teh, Da Huoai districts and their subordinate commune-level administrative units; rearrange commune-level administrative units in Lam Dong province. From the effective date of this Resolution (December 1, 2024), Lam Dong province has 10 district-level administrative units, including 8 districts and 2 cities; 137 commune-level administrative units, including 106 communes, 18 wards and 13 towns.

In Resolution No. 1232/NQ-UBTVQH15, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly resolved to rearrange Hai An district, Thuy Nguyen district and their subordinate commune-level administrative units; establish Thuy Nguyen city and its subordinate wards; and rearrange An Duong district, Hong Bang district and their subordinate commune-level administrative units; establish An Duong district and its subordinate wards; and rearrange commune-level administrative units of Hai Phong city. From the effective date of this Resolution (January 1, 2025), Hai Phong city has 15 district-level administrative units, including 8 districts, 6 districts and 1 city; 167 commune-level administrative units, including 79 wards, 7 towns and 81 communes.

In Resolution No. 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15, the National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to rearrange Vinh city, Cua Lo town, Nghi Loc district and affiliated commune-level administrative units; rearrange commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province. From the effective date of this Resolution (December 1, 2024), Nghe An province has 20 district-level administrative units, including 17 districts, 2 towns and 1 city; 412 commune-level administrative units, including 362 communes, 33 wards and 17 towns.

In Resolution No. 1250/NQ-UBTVQH15, the National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to rearrange commune-level administrative units in Hai Duong province. After the rearrangement, Hai Duong province has 12 district-level administrative units, including 9 districts, 1 town and 2 cities; 207 commune-level administrative units, including 151 communes, 46 wards and 10 towns. This Resolution takes effect from December 1, 2024.

Resolution No. 1238/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Thanh Hoa province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1239/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Yen Bai province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1247/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Kien Giang province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1248/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Hung Yen province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1244/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Long An province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1246/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Lang Son province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1251/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Da Nang city for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1252/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Ca Mau province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1242/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Quang Binh province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1241/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Quang Nam province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1240/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Thai Nguyen province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1254/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Bac Lieu province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1256/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1255/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Bac Ninh province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1237/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Ben Tre province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1257/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Binh Dinh province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Resolution No. 1253/NQ-UTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Binh Thuan province for the period 2023 - 2025.
