Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan acknowledged and commended the achievements of the education sector in the past school year.

Many impressive achievements

The 2024-2025 school year is considered a pivotal year for the comprehensive educational reform period. The province has 777 schools, nearly 397,000 students, more than 25,900 staff and teachers; along with a system of centers, colleges and universities contributing to diversifying training.

Last year, teaching methods continued to be innovated, the 2018 General Education Program was implemented synchronously; the province completed universal preschool education for 5-year-olds, nearly 100% of 6-year-olds entered grade 1, and training efficiency reached 95%. Secondary school level mobilized 99.9% of students, 100% received career guidance; all secondary and high school students studied English and computer science as formal courses.

The experiential activities at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area of teachers and students of Anh Minh Kindergarten contributed to the formation and development of children's abilities and qualities.

The whole sector has 19,610 teachers who meet or exceed the standards (95.2%), 100% of officials are trained to meet the requirements. 81% of schools are connected to the Digital Student Record Store. Last school year, 387 teachers achieved the title of excellent teaching at the provincial level; 39 students won national awards (an increase of 4 awards), 1,647 students won provincial awards, showing that the quality of education continues to improve.

The socialization of education has been promoted, mobilizing nearly 167 billion VND to build 148 new classrooms, 9 public service rooms and supporting facilities, equipment, and meals for students. By June 30, 2025, Ca Mau has 628/731 schools meeting national standards (85.9%). However, the sector still faces difficulties: uneven teaching quality, limited IT application; local surplus - shortage of teachers; many facilities are degraded, lack of land for standard construction.

School infrastructure is invested synchronously, serving well for teaching and learning.

Creating a solid foundation for the new school year

At the conference, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau Nguyen Van Nguyen affirmed: “In the 2025-2026 school year, the education sector will maintain and improve overall quality, create breakthroughs in key education; develop a team of teachers and managers with sufficient qualities, capacity, and creativity to meet the requirements of innovation. At the same time, proactively cooperate with localities and units, especially higher education institutions, to promote training and digital transformation in the sector”.

Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau Nguyen Van Nguyen emphasized: "The education sector of Ca Mau is determined to improve overall quality and develop a strong team of teachers."

In his speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan requested the entire education sector of Ca Mau province to be highly determined and make great efforts to ensure the completion of tasks in the coming time; promptly complete and consolidate the organizational apparatus after implementing the 2-level government, speed up the preparation of schools for the opening of the new school year 2025-2026; focus on investing in facilities from preschool to secondary education, promoting key education. Thereby, contributing to creating an equal, safe, and happy learning environment...

On this occasion, many collectives and individuals were honored to receive the title of Excellent Labor Collective and Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman for their outstanding achievements in the 2024-2025 school year.

This is a recognition and at the same time a motivation for the whole industry to continue to strive and successfully carry out the tasks of the 2025-2026 school year, aiming to improve the quality of comprehensive education, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development of the province in the new period.
