In order to control the quality, affirm the value of crop products on the market, and link with the traceability of products, Nga Son district has recently encouraged localities and production entities to expand the area of ​​specialized cultivation areas and develop crop area codes (MSVT). Initially, the crop areas with codes have been and are being effective, opening up a new direction for development for the local agricultural sector.

As a locality with many favorable conditions for agricultural production, right from the time of the plan to build MSVT, Nga Yen Commune People's Committee assigned Nga Yen Agricultural Cooperative to build MSVT for rice growing area. After a period of analysis, evaluation and selection, Nga Yen Commune has selected 10.3 hectares of hybrid rice specialized production to focus on development. Mr. Mai Dang Bac, Director of the Cooperative, said: With the expectation of building a high-quality rice area, the Cooperative has promoted to help people understand the benefits of participating in building MSVT; sent technical staff to training courses to guide people in production according to VietGAP; properly and sufficiently implemented in rice care. At the same time, instructing households to meticulously record the stages of fertilization, spraying, harvesting; using organic fertilizers, pesticides on the list of permitted use, suitable for each stage of growth and development of crops, ensuring enough isolation time before bringing products to market.

Although the standards of domestic production areas are quite new compared to the production traditions of the people, thanks to the strict application of production processes, the close monitoring and support of Nga Yen Agricultural Cooperative as well as the district agricultural staff, the local production area not only achieves outstanding productivity 10% higher than mass production but also meets the standards to be granted domestic MSVT according to the decision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Along with that, post-harvest rice products have been signed by a number of enterprises and rice processing units to purchase products. From the outstanding advantages of the code-granted production areas, currently, Nga Yen commune has been planning to build MSVT for a number of local commodity crops, such as: safe vegetables, watermelons... This is not only one of the solutions to increase the economic value of agricultural products but also to improve efficiency and innovate agricultural development thinking for local people.

Not only in Nga Yen commune but also in some other communes such as Nga An, Nga Thach, Nga Lien, Nga Hai, there have been many models of specialized cultivation of commodity crops registered for domestic MSVT. The establishment of MSVT not only helps trace the origin but also closely links production to a certain process to meet the requirements of the markets. Thereby, contributing to changing the production mindset and actions of people and management staff in localities in the district; bringing positive impacts and effects in improving the competitiveness of agricultural products, promoting production linkages, and forming sustainable value chains.

Mr. Mai The Luc, owner of a cantaloupe production facility in Nga Hai commune, said: "Implementing the local policy and wanting to increase the value of melon products produced in my family's greenhouse, in 2023, my family registered to produce according to the prescribed standards, so 1,000m2 of production was granted domestic MSVT. After being "identified", the product has traceability of origin and production process, so it is not only competitive in the market but also easy to consume in large supermarkets in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa City... This is a great step forward in production, so my family is looking to expand the area and production objects".

The agricultural production area is large, every year people in Nga Son district produce about 14,000 hectares of crops, with plants having outstanding advantages, such as: sedge, rice, melons of all kinds... However, as of June 2024, in the district, there are only 30.9 hectares of crops granted domestic MSVT. Of which, there are 30.3 hectares of rice and 0.7 hectares of melon. This shows that the area granted codes is not commensurate with the potential and advantages.

The Resolution of the 23rd Congress of the Nga Son District Party Committee, term 2020-2025, determined that "developing agricultural production towards high technology, associated with building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas" is one of the three key programs, aiming to create new breakthroughs. Therefore, establishing and expanding MSVT is a condition to contribute to promoting product consumption, promoting sustainable and effective agricultural production development. In order to continue expanding the area of ​​crops granted MSVT, raising awareness and understanding for officials, localities, and cooperatives on safe agricultural production, Nga Son District People's Committee has coordinated to organize training sessions on the process of establishing production areas of key crops according to VietGAP or equivalent processes, disseminating mandatory regulations of import markets... At the same time, in the process of implementing MSVT construction, the district regularly follows the grassroots, organizes training on science and technology transfer, and guides procedures. At the same time, assign officers to inspect and supervise the planting area to promptly correct and guide the implementation in accordance with the regulations; propagate and encourage people to continue to comply with the regulations of the MSVT that have been granted.
