Recently, Mr. Benjamin Bertrand was investigated by the FFF Regulations Committee for lacking a coaching license.
Mr. Benjamin Bertrand is being investigated for lack of qualifications.
Specifically, in 2022, Bertrand retired at the age of 30 and decided to switch to coaching.
He is currently taking DES (advanced state training) but has not yet graduated.
Meanwhile, the FFF stipulates that coaches working in the French 5th division need at least a DES coaching license. Therefore, Mr. Benjamin Bertrand violated the law.
Faced with this, Pau FC appointed Laurent Strzelczak (who has a DES degree) as head coach of Pau B to replace Benjamin Bertrand.
But in reality, Benjamin Bertrand is still the manager of Pau FC's reserve team.
Since May 2023, Strzelczak has been available to answer the press as captain of Pau B.
If the FFF Regulations Committee's investigation is successful, Pau B will be heavily penalized, including points deductions and a fine.
Not long ago, two other teams in the French 5th division, OGC Nice and AS Nancy-Lorraine, were deducted 6 and 3 points respectively for using coaches without sufficient qualifications.
Bertrand is the coach who regularly works with midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai when he was pushed down to the reserve team.
In the first team, the star born in 1997 has not been on the playing list for 8 consecutive matches.
Many sources say that Quang Hai will likely leave Pau FC after this season.
Currently, the yellow and black team is facing the risk of relegation when ranked 17/20 with 41 points and exactly 1 point more than the red light group.
