In 2015, veteran Nguyen Kim Bao , Tich Son ward, was discharged from the army and retired after 38 years of service in the army. Returning to his hometown, wishing to contribute to the development of his hometown, he always set an example in emulation movements and actively participated in social work.

With prestige, responsibility, pioneering spirit, and exemplary behavior, in 2017, he was elected as Secretary of the Lam Son residential group Party cell . In 2021, veteran Nguyen Van Bau was elected as Chairman of the Veterans Association of Tich Son ward. In any position, he always maintains the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", striving to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style through practical and concrete actions.

Veteran Nguyen Kim Bao shared : I always remember and take Uncle Ho's teaching "Whatever is beneficial to the people must be done with all my might, whatever is harmful to the people must be avoided with all my might" as a "compass" in all thoughts and actions. As long as I am healthy, I will strive to contribute to society, contributing to the development of my homeland and country" .

As Secretary of the Party Cell , veteran Nguyen Kim Bao always upholds the pioneering spirit, exemplary spirit, sense of responsibility, promotes the role of a solid "bridge" between the Party, the government and the people; promptly disseminates the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws to the people; always stays close to the people, grasps their thoughts and aspirations, listens to their opinions and recommendations; does a good job of mass mobilization, receives consensus and positive response from Party members and people in implementing tasks and emulation movements in the locality.

In particular, veteran Nguyen Kim Bau is always dedicated and strives to fulfill the task of educating revolutionary traditions for the younger generation. In 2023, the model "Educating revolutionary traditions for the younger generation of Tich Son ward and communes and wards in Vinh Yen city" of the Association of Veterans of Tich Son ward, implemented by comrade Nguyen Kim Bau, was selected by Vinh Yen City Party Committee as a model in studying and following Uncle Ho. The model has been effectively maintained to date and has been recognized and highly appreciated by Party committees, authorities, and people in the area.

Over the years, the Association of War Veterans of Vinh Yen city has built many models and implemented specific and practical activities to learn and follow Uncle Ho, associated with promoting patriotic emulation movements and implementing political tasks and socio-economic development of the locality.

Thereby, promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and members in propaganda work, mobilizing people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; uniting to help each other develop the economy, reduce poverty; participating in building civilized urban areas, protecting the environment, protecting security and order, building cultural life in residential areas; educating patriotic traditions, fostering revolutionary ideals for the younger generation...

In economic development, the Association of War Veterans of Vinh Yen city has promoted the emulation movement "War Veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business"; effectively exploiting and managing preferential capital to support members in economic development.

Currently, the City Association of War Veterans receives the trust of the Provincial Social Policy Bank. over 25 billion VND for more than 400 households to borrow capital. In addition, the association at all levels has mobilized and built an association fund of 6 billion VND, an average of about 1 million VND/member to help members borrow capital without interest.

Promoting the spirit of " Uncle Ho's soldiers" on the economic front, many members of the CCB Association have risen up to develop production and business, legitimately enrich themselves, create jobs for local workers, and actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the city. Up to now , the rate of poor CCB households in the city has decreased to 0.02%, the number of rich and well-off households accounts for over 79% .

Promoting the pioneering and exemplary role in environmental protection, 100% of War Veterans Associations in the city have built and maintained civilized and self-managed roads ensuring the 5 criteria of "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, civilized"; 100% of War Veterans Associations have established environmental protection clubs.

The work of comradeship has been implemented with attention by all levels of the association, 100% of the city's war veterans have contributed to the "Comradeship" Fund . From the fund, in the past 5 years (2019-2024) , the War Veterans Association at all levels has supported the construction of 9 new houses for war veterans' families in difficult circumstances, supported 4 members to repair their houses , and supported hundreds of members facing sudden difficulties and serious illnesses.

The practical and specific activities and models in studying and following Uncle Ho that have been effectively implemented have clearly demonstrated the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and members of the War Veterans Association of Vinh Yen city, creating a strong spreading force, highly appreciated by Party committees at all levels, authorities and people in the area, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks, building Vinh Yen city to be increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
