Water level in the Mekong River upstream is gradually rising.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, over the past 10 days, the water level at the headwaters of the Mekong River has fluctuated with the tides with a gradual upward trend. The highest water level on the Tien River at Tan Chau station was 2.49m, and on the Hau River at Chau Doc station was 2.26m.

It is forecasted that in the first 10 days of August 2025, the water level of the Mekong River will fluctuate with the tide with a gradual upward trend. The highest water level at Tan Chau station is 2.9m, at Chau Doc station is 2.6m. In the next 5 days, the water level of the Mekong River will fluctuate with the tide.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that it is necessary to be vigilant about high tides affecting riverside areas, especially the Mekong Delta region. It recommends that functional sectors and localities closely monitor water level developments on rivers to proactively plan production and people's activities.
