At the workshop held in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of December 16, experts, managers, researchers, artists, etc. shared experiences and discussed the current situation, capabilities, and challenges of public-private cooperation in the cultural sector, thereby proposing feasible solutions, contributing to effectively exploiting State resources and mobilizing positive contributions from the private sector in the cultural sector.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong (Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts) delivered the opening speech of the workshop.

According to the delegates, in the context of current integration and development, culture is considered one of the main pillars, both the spiritual foundation of society and the goal and driving force for sustainable national development. To promote the role of culture associated with economics, politics and society towards sustainable development, the application of the public-private partnership model has become an inevitable trend, especially when State resources are limited and the active participation of the private sector is needed.

Dr. Tom Fleming (Director of Creative Economy and Culture Research and Consulting Company) presented a paper.

However, the implementation of cooperation activities in the cultural field in our country in recent times still faces many barriers in terms of law, financial mechanisms, and lack of coordination between relevant ministries and sectors. Therefore, promoting public-private cooperation is expected to create new cultural values and develop the cultural industry.
