These days, the Muong people are waiting for the winter solstice to pass to plant the new crop. Under the roofs of stilt houses, they prepare tools and materials to weave and bend bamboo and rattan to make some household items. From the flexible rattan fibers, through the skillful hands of Muong women, beautiful trays and vases are created.

Men also take the opportunity to ferment jars of rice wine in preparation for the upcoming Lunar New Year. The first glutinous rice grains of the season are always fragrant and produce a spicy, rich-flavored wine.

The Muong people do not forget to teach their culture to the younger generation. Young men and women diligently brew wine and weave rattan under the stilt house roof.

Bac Tra My district always strives to develop and promote the tourist destination of Muong village in Tra Giang commune. The products from the traditional rattan and bamboo weaving craft of the ethnic people along with the old cultural activities attract tourists.
