Lymph nodes play an important role in the functioning of the immune system, helping the body detect and destroy foreign invaders, while also producing antibodies into the circulatory system. When lymph nodes are swollen, it can warn of infection or the risk of malignancy.

Therefore, Dr. Quoc Thanh recommends that when lymph nodes appear in 3 places on the body, people need to pay special attention, specifically:

Swollen lymph nodes in the neck: Swollen lymph nodes in the neck are very common, especially in people who often have upper respiratory infections. However, you need to be careful because this can be a sign of many dangerous diseases such as: Cancer metastasis from the thyroid, nasopharynx, esophagus, lungs...; Diseases of the lymphatic system: lymphoma, tuberculosis...

Axillary lymph nodes: According to Dr. Thanh, axillary lymph nodes can be felt quite clearly when they have appeared, the size depends on the influencing factor. If the cause of axillary lymph nodes is inflammation, it will be accompanied by symptoms such as swelling, pain, and fever. However, special attention should be paid because it can be a warning sign of some dangerous diseases such as: Diseases of the lymphatic system: lymphoma, tuberculosis...; Metastatic melanoma; Metastatic breast cancer, axillary lymph nodes can be a warning sign of breast cancer in the advanced stage. This is also one of the factors that helps doctors assess the stage of the disease.

Inguinal lymph nodes: Normally, when you see swollen lymph nodes in the groin area, it can come from causes such as: Infections in the genitals, urinary tract such as Chlamydia, syphilis...; Scratches, abscesses, boils in the lower limbs, around the pelvis; Diseases in the lymphatic system: lymphoma, tuberculosis...; Metastatic cancer.
