Revealing the First Prize-winning work of the Logo and Slogan Creation Contest on Sustainable Production and Consumption

On the afternoon of December 22, 2023, at Lake Side Hotel, Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held the Award Ceremony of the Contest "Creating logos and slogans on sustainable production and consumption".
Attending the Award Ceremony were representatives of functional units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, contestants and winners, agencies, organizations, businesses, individuals inside and outside the industry and trade sector, and press agencies. Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Head of the Organizing Committee and Head of the Jury of the Competition, spoke at the Award Ceremony. Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Head of the Organizing Committee and Head of the Jury of the Contest, said that, implementing Decision No. 300/QD-BCT dated February 17, 2023 of the Minister of Industry and Trade on implementing the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the period 2021 - 2030, the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development and the Industry and Trade Magazine launched the Contest "Creating logos and slogans on sustainable production and consumption". The contest aims to find a unique and creative set of logos that convey the message of the program; contributing to raising awareness of the group of contest participants and the community about sustainable production and consumption towards sustainable development in the community. After more than 1 month of implementation from November 1, 2023 to December 8, 2023, the Organizing Committee received more than 200 entries from more than 150 authors who are design experts, architects, artists, design units, students of graphic design schools, fine arts, and individuals across the country. The Organizing Committee selected 84 entries that met the criteria of the issued Regulations to participate in the Preliminary Round and the Final Round. The Organizing Committee presented flowers to the representatives of the Jury and the units with many works participating in the contest. In the Preliminary Round, the Jury scored and selected 10 works for the Final Round. In the Final Round, the Jury scored and selected 03 winning works. At the Ceremony, the Jury officially announced: + 01 First Prize belongs to author Nguyen Khoa Hoang Linh (Hue city) + 02 Encouragement Prizes to authors Phan Thi Thanh Nga (Hanoi city) and Nguyen Nam Khanh (Lao Cai city). First Prize Winner of the Logo and Slogan Contest on Sustainable Production and Consumption Deputy Director Trinh Quoc Vu affirmed: “The greatest success of the Contest is to gather entries that clearly express the spirit and creatively convey the message of the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the period 2021-2030, created artistically in fresh and highly aesthetic forms, easy to remember, easy to recognize, and impressive to the public”. Mr. Nguyen Khoa Hoang Linh, on behalf of the winning authors, shared at the Award Ceremony of the Logo and Slogan Contest on Sustainable Production and Consumption. On behalf of the winning authors, Mr. Nguyen Khoa Hoang Linh shared: “In recent years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has focused on implementing tasks and projects to achieve the goal of sustainable development, towards a circular economy. In which, communication activities to raise public awareness of sustainable production and consumption are an important content”; “In that flow, I and many of my brothers and sisters who are design experts, architects, artists, design units, students of graphic design and fine arts schools, and individuals across the country are very excited to participate in the Contest “Creating logos and slogans on sustainable production and consumption”; “I am very pleased to know that my work won the highest prize and will be selected to represent the image and message of the National Action Program on sustainable production and consumption, appearing in the Program's communication activities. This is a great encouragement for me in my creative journey for the country's sustainable development”. 02 Encouragement prizes belong to authors Phan Thi Thanh Nga (Hanoi city) and Nguyen Nam Khanh (Lao Cai city)First Prize belongs to author Nguyen Khoa Hoang Linh (Hue city) Organizing the Contest is one of the modern, attractive and highly effective propaganda methods to raise awareness and further promote the role of businesses in the Industry and Trade sector as well as people in sustainable production and consumption, towards a circular economy in Vietnam; contributing to realizing the Netzero goal by 2050 according to the commitment of the Vietnamese Government at COP26, which was affirmed at COP27.
The first prize winning work belongs to author Nguyen Khoa Hoang Linh. The work is stylized with 2 lotus images. The lotus on the outside is stylized with the form of a dynamic, powerful block symbolizing the production factor. The lotus on the inside is stylized in the shape of a leaf symbolizing the consumption factor. The harmonious yin and yang array represents harmony, connection, and movement in accordance with nature.According to the jury's assessment, the logo and slogan of Nguyen Khoa Hoang Linh is a good visual work, conveying the message towards the criteria of sustainability and environmental friendliness according to the content of the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption; meeting design requirements such as: aesthetics, easy to remember, easy to recognize, impressive to the public, expressing traditional features combined with modern trends and integration.In addition, the slogan is composed and designed in harmony with the overall logo; and convenient for printing, enlarging, reducing, embossing, and processing with any material. This is extremely important, because the logo and slogan will represent the image and message of the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption, appearing in the Program's communication activities.
