Since its broadcast on Vietnam Television in 2014, the program "Kindness" has introduced more than 2,200 stories of kindness to television audiences, building the image of Vietnam as a kind and compassionate country. The examples honored are of many ages, from many regions, fields and circumstances.

They are teachers who dedicate their whole lives to bringing knowledge to homeless and disadvantaged children in remote areas; those who voluntarily donate all their assets, land, and houses to take care of and raise lonely, homeless, and orphaned children. They are also those who actively participate in community programs for the poor, voluntarily support and donate hundreds of billions of VND to charity programs...

Expressing his joy, emotion and warmth when meeting typical examples representing more than 200 outstanding figures in the "Kindness" Programs that Vietnam Television has spread in 2023, President Vo Van Thuong said that this is a very meaningful activity, starting a good and successful new year.
The President stated that kindness is a good virtue, a positive attitude, a choice of moral lifestyle that is respected and highly appreciated by Vietnamese people. Recalling stories and folk songs in the treasure trove of Vietnamese folk literature praising kind people and deeds, the President said that this shows that since ancient times our ancestors have valued kindness and kind people. The President said that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid attention to good people and good deeds to promptly encourage, commend and promote good deeds. The President emphasized that the stories introduced and spread by the "Kindness" Program have brought good emotions, have a very high value of transformation and inspiration. Thereby, it urges everyone, no matter what they do, in what position, at what age, to look back at themselves, hope and believe in good things, and desire to do many good things that are useful for themselves and society.

The President expressed his impression, emotion, and admiration for the good deeds that the characters in the "Kind Deeds" Program have done in the past year, such as: Mr. Nguyen Trung Chat, the father of more than 300 orphans in Lang Son and Hung Yen; Mr. Truong Van Kiem in the West who spent 20 years building 582 houses for the poor or disabled teacher Le Thi Tham who overcame difficulties to rise up... and many other typical examples. Emphasizing the examples in the Program with a heart full of compassion, always taking good deeds as work, a reason for living, have brought good values, full of humanity to society.

The President said that our country is in a new stage of development, with a long-term vision and great aspirations, striving to become a developed country with high income by 2045. For the country to develop prosperously and for our people to be prosperous and happy, we need more and more good and decent deeds. “With the tradition of humanity, solidarity, love, mutual support and sharing of the Vietnamese people; with the very inspiring stories of you, I believe that there will be more and more good deeds in the future. We have a population of 100 million. If each person does one good deed, we will have tens of millions of good deeds,” said the President.

The President suggested that the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central and local socio-political organizations and unions to research and launch a movement of each person doing one good deed so that there will be tens of millions of good deeds and many good communities.
The President hopes that the "Kind Deeds" program will seek out more people, more role models, more kind deeds across the country, so that good deeds can be praised and spread widely to all people across the country. This will encourage the community to take action and contribute to building the image of a kind and compassionate Vietnam.
