For the first time, Dak Nong pilots the organization of entrance exams for grade 10.

The People's Committee of Dak Nong province has just issued a decision approving the enrollment plan for high schools and ethnic boarding schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

On March 14, speaking with Thanh Nien , Mr. Tran Si Thanh, Deputy Director of the Dak Nong Department of Education and Training, said that the pilot plan to organize entrance exams with 11 public schools (school year 2025-2026) has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Thanh said that this year, for the first time, Dak Nong will pilot the entrance exam with 11 out of 32 public high schools in the area, after many years of implementing the admission method for grade 10 (in addition to Nguyen Chi Thanh Specialized High School and N'Trang Long Boarding Ethnic High School).

The enrollment target for grade 10 of public high schools and ethnic boarding schools is 8,390 students, including 420 grade 10 students of ethnic boarding schools.

"This is the first year of organizing the entrance exam, the preparation work is more difficult, but the Ministry of Education and Training has very detailed instructions in Circular 30/2024/TT-BGDDT (dated December 30, 2024) promulgating the Regulations on junior high school and high school admissions, so it is convenient for localities to implement," said Mr. Thanh.

According to Mr. Thanh, for students applying to N'Trang Long Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities and 9 high schools that recruit students by entrance exam, they are required to take 3 subjects: Literature, Math, and English.

For students applying to Nguyen Chi Thanh High School for the Gifted, it is mandatory to take 4 subjects: Math, Literature, English and specialized subject.

At the same time, organize admission to grade 10 high school by examination for the remaining ethnic boarding high schools, middle schools and high schools in the province.

"Students should carefully consider factors such as the desired school and their academic ability to apply to the appropriate school because the desired school and academic ability are not always the same; avoid misconceptions about academic results; avoid situations where, due to lack of confidence, students have good abilities but do not dare to apply to the school they want to study at, or vice versa," Mr. Thanh noted.
