The event was attended directly by more than 250 delegates including representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Vietnam Women's Union, the Women's Unions of 7 Southeast provinces, Ho Chi Minh City and 3 Southwest provinces (Vinh Long, An Giang, Ben Tre); representatives of leaders of Party committees, authorities and departments, branches and sectors; experts in the field of family and children; leaders and officials of the Women's Union at all levels, women's union members of Binh Duong province and parents and children in the province.
Attending and giving a speech at the forum, Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, affirmed that this is the first time a forum addressing parenting education has been organized in a direct form combined with online and widely promoted information on television channels in provinces and cities across the country.
Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh emphasized: “Being a parent is considered a very special 'profession', a very sacred and happy job but also contains many difficulties and challenges.
In this journey, we - those who are and have been parents - have certainly been confused and bewildered many times. Because in reality, there is no school that "teaches" parenting methods/skills in a systematic and scientific way. Only after having children do parents begin the journey of learning to be parents".
According to the Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, in the process of caring for and raising children, family - school and society are important factors with close relationships, directly affecting the shaping and development of children's personality in the future.
If the family is the first cradle that influences a child's personality, then school and society are the places that help children nurture their personality, ethics, and lifestyle, helping them learn more basic knowledge, life skills, etc. to create a solid foundation for entering life.
As an organization representing and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of women and children, for many years, the Vietnam Women's Union has always valued and carried out the work of caring for, educating and protecting children through the role of mothers and families.
Faced with the increasingly urgent need for child care, education and protection, especially child care and nurturing through the role of women in the family, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union will continue to focus on parenting education to support female cadres and members to have more opportunities to access and improve their knowledge and skills as parents.
Attending the Forum, delegates had the opportunity to exchange and share practical experiences in the process of raising children; listen to experts in the fields of education, family and children share about issues that are attracting the attention of society such as: Responsibilities of families and the whole society in caring for and treating children's mental health; protecting children from violence and abuse; skills to build family happiness in the digital age...
The forum is also an opportunity for the Women's Unions of provinces/cities to share advantages, difficulties and propose appropriate solutions in implementing parenting education content, contributing to the effective implementation of the 2024-2025 theme content of Project 938 "Parenting education in child care and protection".
At the event, delegates also heard representatives from the Department of Education and Training, parents and students in Binh Duong province share about priorities in child care, education and protection.
