For the first time, Hai Phong organized a program of reviewing troops and mass parades, fireworks displays at many locations and more than 100 activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025) and the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2025.

The above content was announced by Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong city at the information session on the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the Red Flamboyant Festival - Hai Phong in 2025.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, the highlight of this year's program is the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the opening of the Red Flamboyant Festival taking place at 8:10 p.m. on May 13.

The ceremony was broadcast live on VTV1, digital platforms, and rebroadcast on THP and several other local channels. The venue was at the Central Political-Administrative Square in the new urban area of ​​Bac Song Cam.

The opening ceremony was an art program with the theme "Hai Phong - 70 years of faith and aspiration to rise up" with the participation of more than 600 professional artists and actors. The program was elaborately staged, depicting 3 hallmarks of the port city, including: history-culture, integration-development and innovation-creativity; combining modern 3D mapping and laser mapping projection technology with modern sound and lighting systems. This was followed by a high-altitude fireworks display at 6 locations at the same time.

In addition, from 7:30 to 8:50 on May 11, at Hai Phong City Theater Square and central streets, there will be a parade and mass parade.

This is a city-level activity, with the participation of 40 blocs, representing all classes of people in the city, to demonstrate the strength and maturity of the forces in the cause of innovation and development; honoring historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions.

"Through the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day, the Organizing Committee hopes to bring about a day of great national unity for the city's people. From there, all classes of people will be closely connected to create a strength for a Hai Phong that can move steadily into the future," said Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai.

Within the framework of the commemorative activities, from April 30 to June 1, there will also be a series of art performances such as traditional singing and dancing, traditional Cheo; comedy; amateur music; street art... at Hai Phong City Theater Square along with a Festival Week of art programs with the participation of international art troupes such as China, Korea, Japan...; international children's art exchange.

In addition to cultural and artistic activities, Hai Phong city also cooperated with Vietnam Railways to launch the "Hoa Phuong Do" train line from Hai Phong to Hanoi with about 20 train cars. The train cars are being finished with interiors in Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected to open on May 10.

On this occasion, Hai Phong was also honored to receive the title "Heroic City"./.
