Early Impressions
On August 24, 1984, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 110 on adjusting administrative boundaries and establishing Ai Nghia town on the basis of the old Dai Phuoc commune, merging part of the administrative boundaries and population of neighboring communes including Dai Nghia, Dai Hiep, Dai Hoa, Dai An with an area of 518 hectares and a population of 7,974 people.
In August 1994, the Government issued Decree No. 102 approving the expansion of Ai Nghia town with a total area of 836.7 hectares and a population of 15,717 people.
Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Ai Nghia town - Mr. Dang Ngoc Dung said that when the town was first established, the local socio-economic situation was still very difficult. Infrastructure was rudimentary; healthcare, education, and schools were not completed; hungry and poor households accounted for nearly 50%.
“The task for the entire political system is to focus on leading and directing the people to continue increasing agricultural production, small-scale industry, construction, and business; consolidating industry and small-scale industry; developing healthcare and education; ensuring security and national defense; and ensuring food sources for the people,” said Mr. Dung.

Under the leadership of the Party Executive Committee of Dai Loc district, the locality has gradually transformed itself in many areas. The outstanding achievement in the early stages was focusing on directing Dai Phuoc Agricultural Cooperative (now Ai Nghia Agricultural Cooperative) to implement intensive farming with a rice yield of nearly 22 tons/ha/year, creating a nationwide resonance, and was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers with a reward of an MTZ-50 plow. The People's Committee of Quang Nam - Da Nang province at that time organized a conference to launch the movement "Competition for intensive farming to increase rice productivity" surpassing Dai Phuoc.
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Ai Nghia Agricultural Cooperative - Mr. Truong Cam shared that, through the process of construction and development, the unit has now expanded production links, especially F1 hybrid rice with hundreds of hectares, with profits 2.5 - 3 times higher than commercial rice.
Members are provided with input services and output products by the unit. Dai Loc rice paper is recognized as a 4-star OCOP product, "Ai Nghia Safe Rice" meets 3-star standards.

Comprehensive development
Ai Nghia town martyrs cemetery has just completed renovation and upgrading as an activity to show gratitude for the sacrifice of previous generations for national independence.
According to Mr. Hua Van Hung - Chairman of Ai Nghia Town People's Committee, the locality focuses on implementing social security programs so that "no one is left behind". Culture and society have many improvements, education and training continue to change positively.
To date, all 5 public schools from kindergarten to secondary school have met national standards level 2. Thanks to promoting economic development and effectively implementing the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the poverty rate in Ai Nghia town by the end of 2023 was only 0.18%; near-poor households were 0.36%. Average income per capita reached 79 million VND/year.

Mr. Hua Van Hung shared that after 40 years of construction and development, Ai Nghia town has achieved many important achievements. However, it is necessary to frankly admit that the economy is still low compared to some localities in the province; the quality of human resources is still limited.
The infrastructure is not yet synchronous and does not meet the requirements in the new situation... With solidarity, determination, and timely support from all levels and sectors at the Central, provincial, and district levels and from people living far from home, we believe that the Party Committee, government, and people of Ai Nghia town will reap many achievements in the cause of building their homeland.
Ai Nghia town has 9 neighborhoods, with a current population of more than 22,000 people. Up to now, the town Party Committee has nearly 600 party members with 17 affiliated party cells. On October 17, 2023, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province issued Decision No. 2222 approving the planning and promulgating management regulations attached to the project to adjust the general planning of Ai Nghia town for the period up to 2030. This is the basis for orienting the planning of building a scientific, civilized and modern Ai Nghia urban area.
