With the 80th anniversary of National Day, the September 2nd holiday is becoming more anticipated than ever. Results recorded by online platform Booking.com show that Vietnamese tourists have a need to balance domestic exploration with international cultural experiences, reflecting tourists’ interest in familiar journeys as well as new cultural adventures.

Accordingly, the most searched domestic destinations during this year's holiday reflect the diversity in Vietnamese people's travel preferences: from vibrant cultural and historical centers to peaceful beaches and cool climate locations.

This year’s National Day, Hanoi has become the center of attention with a series of vibrant activities and festivals. With 31% of tourists motivated to travel to participate in major and special events, it is not difficult to understand why the capital has risen to the top of the list of most searched domestic destinations, attracting everyone from individual travelers to families and groups of friends who want to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere.

While the capital has become a destination for meaningful cultural experiences, Vietnam’s beaches still maintain their appeal to tourists looking for a peaceful vacation, making Da Nang the second most sought-after domestic destination.

The livable coastal city is famous for its clear blue skies and peaceful coastline, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation and experience. In addition, other destinations such as Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Hue, Hoi An, Phu Quoc and Mui Ne are also on the list, each with its own appeal for a sunny vacation.

With 56% of Vietnamese tourists planning a trip close to nature, Da Lat ranked third in the list of most searched domestic destinations for the upcoming festival, thanks to its cool climate and diverse outdoor entertainment activities. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City ranked fifth, offering a unique experience with a vibrant lifestyle, entertainment spots suitable for the whole family and special cultural programs.

Vietnamese travelers are also looking to destinations in the Asia-Pacific region for extended holidays, with Bangkok being the top choice. Singapore’s unique blend of modern lifestyle, rich cultural identity and green spaces in the city has risen three places compared to the same period last year.

Seoul and Tokyo also recorded growth in accommodation searches. These two cities attract Vietnamese tourists thanks to their autumn beauty and dynamic urban life. Other Asian cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Taipei continue to attract attention thanks to their rich cuisine, diverse entertainment activities and convenient travel advantages./.
