The conference was organized by the National Cyber ​​Security Association in coordination with the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control, Ministry of Public Security , with the participation of leaders of management agencies, businesses, technology platforms and hundreds of KOLs across the country.

The conference sent a message about properly assessing the role, potential, and conditions for KOLs to make the best contribution.

Power, authority and value from KOL

Reality clearly shows the attractiveness and "power" of information from KOLs in digital space. A status line, a video , a live session of famous people, channel owners, website owners with hundreds, millions of followers will create a strong and fast information spreading effect. KOLs on the internet are a special force, able to orient information, change social awareness of information or phenomenon.

KOLs with millions of followers are becoming the "guides" for the crowd's consciousness. But the question is: where will they lead the community? This depends on their level, awareness and tendency to share information.

Besides some KOLs who inspire a beautiful life, there are still many faces who fall into a flashy, pragmatic lifestyle and make shocking statements. There are photos that instill in the minds of millions of viewers distorted measures of value: the halo, illusion from showing off, fame and many views put above social responsibility. In the context of a nation trying to assert its position, such influences are no different from pulling the whole community backwards.

We cannot demand that KOLs become saints. But what can be required is conscious and active sharing because every action of KOLs creates social impact. And aware that in a country that is reaching out to the ocean, what is happening online is also part of the people's intelligence, part of the national image.

It is no coincidence that in many countries, KOLs become "ambassadors" spreading cultural values ​​and promoting the national image to the world . Vietnam also needs such faces to contribute more soft power in the integration journey.

On the positive side, KOLs can lead trends, contribute to changing public awareness, promote creativity and spread Vietnamese identity, image and values ​​to the world. The era of national development requires everyone to contribute, in one way or another. For KOLs, contributing is not only participating in community campaigns but first of all, living responsibly with one's influence.

The question is which side will KOLs choose to stand on in that history - accompanying the community or standing aside with their own narrow interests? The answer will not only shape their image, but also contribute to deciding the appearance of the whole society in the new era.
