On February 27, Thanh Nien 's source from the Internal Affairs Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee said that on the afternoon of the same day, the Investigation Agency of the Supreme People's Procuracy prosecuted and issued a temporary arrest warrant for Nguyen Van Bi, former enforcement officer of the An Giang Provincial Department of Civil Judgment Enforcement, to investigate and handle the act of embezzlement of property.

The decisions to prosecute and temporarily detain the defendant Bi were approved by the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Cases of Infringement on Judicial Activities, Corruption, and Positions in Judicial Activities (referred to as Department 6) of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

According to the initial investigation of the Supreme People's Procuracy's Investigation Agency, when assigned to organize the enforcement of the First Instance Civil Judgment No. 64/2022/DS-ST dated December 18, 2022 of the An Giang Provincial People's Court, enforcement officer Nguyen Van Bi collected more than VND 958 million from the judgment debtor, but only paid VND 350 million to the judgment beneficiary. The remaining amount of more than VND 608 million was used to pay debts and for personal purposes without paying the judgment enforcement fund.

The case is currently being further investigated and clarified by the Supreme People's Procuracy Investigation Agency for handling according to regulations.
