Pham Dinh Thang and Vo Van Vinh (Hoa Hai commune, Huong Khe, Ha Tinh) bravely swam into the flood water to save people.
On the morning of November 6, Huong Khe District Youth Union awarded a certificate of merit to member Pham Dinh Thang, Youth Union 12A2, Ham Nghi High School Youth Union for his brave action in rescuing people swept away by floodwaters. At the same time, the higher-level Youth Union was requested to commend and reward him. |
Previously, on October 30, in Hoa Hai commune, Huong Khe district, a flash flood occurred, causing the Tat dam to break; the road from No market to the commune People's Committee was deeply flooded, with strong currents. At around 2:00 p.m. the same day, NVD (village 7, Hoa Hai commune) was unfortunately swept away by floodwaters on his way home.
After drifting about 60m, NVD was lucky to hold onto a tree branch. Witnessing the incident, Mr. Pham Minh Ha shouted and called on his son, Pham Dinh Thang (student of class 12A2, Ham Nghi High School) and Mr. Vo Van Vinh (Head of the Farmers' Association of Village 7) to save the person. After many efforts, the two people successfully saved NVD from the flood water.
In response to Pham Dinh Thang's brave action, Huong Khe District Youth Union decided to award a certificate of merit and proposed that the higher-level Youth Union organization commend and reward him.
Hoa Hai Commune awarded certificates of merit to Pham Dinh Thang and local citizens who bravely saved people.
Previously, Ham Nghi High School and Hoa Hai Commune also awarded certificates of merit to Pham Dinh Thang and Mr. Vo Van Vinh; Ham Nghi High School proposed the Department of Education and Training to award a certificate of merit to Pham Dinh Thang.
