According to the latest news, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max duo will be equipped with cameras capable of changing aperture, promising to enhance the photography experience for users.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, famous for his accurate predictions about Apple products, has just revealed sensational information about the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max duo to be launched in 2026. Accordingly, the device will be equipped with a wide-angle camera with a variable aperture lens, promising to enhance the photography experience for users.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max duo are expected to be equipped with cameras capable of changing aperture. |
Variable aperture allows the camera to flexibly control the amount of light entering the sensor. Wide apertures help to collect more light in low light conditions, ideal for night photography and portraits with blurred backgrounds. Conversely, narrow apertures are suitable for environments with lots of light.
Combined with the power of AI, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max duo can automatically adjust the optimal aperture for each frame, delivering superior image quality.
Some sources previously said that at least one version of the iPhone 17 would have a main camera with the ability to change aperture. However, Kuo believes that Apple has delayed the plan and put this major upgrade on the high-end iPhone 18 line.
Most likely, the major camera upgrade will only appear on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max duo. Previously, Kuo also revealed that the processor chip on the iPhone 18 Pro lines will be manufactured on TSMC's 2nm process.
These could be the first iPhones to feature Apple’s new processor. Meanwhile, the standard versions are still expected to use 3nm chips. The main reason comes from production costs as well as technological limitations.
