Vietnam Journalists Association and China National Journalists Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Press and Media Exchange Program for the period 2024-2029

On August 19, at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing (China), right after the end of the talks, General Secretary and President To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping witnessed the signing ceremony of 14 documents signed by ministries, central and local agencies of the two countries during this State visit.

Among the 14 documents signed this time is the Memorandum of Understanding on the Press and Media Exchange Program between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the China National Journalists Association for the period 2024-2029.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Mr. Liu Si Yang - Permanent Vice President of the China National Journalists Association, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the friendship and cooperation in information exchange between press agencies of the two countries, maintaining and promoting the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

The signing of the “Memorandum of Understanding on the Press and Media Exchange Program between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the China National Journalists Association for the period 2024-2029” contributes to consolidating and enhancing the friendship and cooperation in information exchange between press agencies of the two countries. Accordingly, the Memorandum of Understanding achieved a number of main contents, as follows:

The two sides agreed to continue to perform their responsibilities in the best possible way to promote consensus in press activities to help people of the two countries correctly understand political, economic, social, cultural, educational and people-to-people exchange issues, making new contributions to promoting friendship between the two Parties, two countries and two peoples, and maintaining peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region.

At the same time, the two sides agreed to continue to closely cooperate to strengthen the press-media relationship between the two countries through regional and international activities.

In addition, the two Journalists Associations also agreed to annually exchange information on the current situation of press and media, viewpoints and experiences in media management of the two countries...

The Memorandum of Understanding on the Press and Media Exchange Program between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the China National Journalists Association for the period 2024-2029 inherits the "Press Exchange and Cooperation Agreement" between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the China National Journalists Association in 2017, on the basis of the principles of solidarity, equality and mutual respect, within the scope of functions, tasks and powers of the two units, in accordance with the laws of each country and international treaties to which each country is a member.
