On the morning of December 20, in Vinh city, the Provincial Farmers' Association held a conference to review the Association's work and the farmers' movement in 2023; and deploy tasks for 2024. Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung, member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association chaired the conference.

Support the construction of 168 models of farmers developing the economy

In 2023, implementing the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty, farmers' associations at all levels in the province actively innovated the content, methods of leadership, direction and implementation of the movement. The results recognized 147,097 households meeting the criteria of good production and business farmers at all levels, reaching 107.6% of the assigned target.

During the year, the association at all levels has supported farmers in building many economic models, contributing to improving the efficiency of agricultural production and business, helping farmers better access new techniques and advanced production organization methods.

Specifically, the Association directly supported the construction of 168 effective economic development models; Coordinated with the Central Committees of the Association to implement 3 projects: Model of applying microbial products in intensive guava cultivation in Nghia Phu commune, Nghia Dan district, model of supporting the development of tea growing cooperatives in Thanh Mai commune, Thanh Chuong district; Model of clean water treatment for households, associated with rural environmental protection in Giai Xuan commune, Tan Ky district; built and replicated 808 environmentally friendly rice cultivation models, with an area of ​​113.4 hectares.

Regarding the work of mobilizing, guiding and supporting farmers to participate in developing collective economic forms in agriculture, during the year, the association at all levels mobilized and supported the establishment of 82 cooperative groups and 10 cooperatives.

In addition, the association at all levels continues to promote the National Target Program on New Rural Development, mobilizing farmers to contribute funds, working days, and donate land to develop rural infrastructure. During the year, farmers in the whole province contributed more than 510 billion VND, donated more than 97,132 ^m2 of land, and participated in 405,939 working days to build rural infrastructure.

In addition, many activities are organized to support members and farmers in promoting and consuming products; Continue to promote the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Vietnam Post Corporation on supporting farmers in digital transformation in agricultural production and consumption, introducing and promoting products, and bringing agricultural products to the Postmart e-commerce platform.

Solutions to implement the Association's work targets and farmers' movement in 2024

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tung, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, emphasized: "2024 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, the resolution of the congresses of farmers' associations at all levels for the 2023-2028 term. Therefore, it is necessary to quickly and decisively implement the congress resolution in the first month and year. To achieve that, it is necessary to have great efforts and determination from all levels of the association, cadres and members of farmers in the whole province."

Accordingly, the Provincial Farmers' Association Executive Committee identified 15 key objectives for the Association's work and the farmers' movement in 2024, including: 100% of cadres and members are propagandized, disseminated, and educated on the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State, and resolutions of the Association; 100% of branch heads and specialized cadres at commune level or higher are trained in professional work on Association building, updated with new knowledge on agriculture and rural economy; 100% of grassroots organizations introduce outstanding members for the Party organization to consider admission; Establish at least 15 professional farmer branches, 70 professional farmer groups; 100% of branches have an Association fund with an average of 70,000-100,000 VND per member or more; Admit at least 10,300 members; Coordinate to open at least 185 short-term vocational training classes for farmers; Coordinated to open 1,890 scientific and technical training sessions for at least 90,000 farmer members; At least 132,000 households achieved the title of good production and business; Each district-level unit consulted and supported the construction of at least 1 high-tech economic model or a value chain production model; Supported the establishment of at least 5 cooperatives, 43 cooperative groups...

At the conference, delegates also discussed solutions to implement the goals and tasks in 2024. In particular, focusing on the work of building and developing the Association's organization; Improving the effectiveness of the farmers' movement to compete in production and good business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably; Support and guide members and farmers to develop economic models; Mobilize farmers to participate in collective economic development; Organize well consulting activities and support services for farmers...

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 districts, cities and towns with outstanding achievements; 8 districts, cities and towns with outstanding achievements; 56 association bases and 52 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work and farmers' movement in 2023 .
