The top aide to Ukrainian President Mikhail Podoliak said on October 16 that the secret part of the victory plan revealed by President Volodymyr Zelensky included the targets that Kiev aimed at in its attacks deep into Russian territory.
"The appendix says exactly what weapons should be used to destroy (Russian) logistics far from the front line, what targets will be attacked and how many weapons are needed for this," Mikhail Podoliak revealed.
President Zelensky yesterday presented Ukraine's "victory plan" to the country's parliament.
The plan includes five points: NATO membership, defense aspects, deterrence of Russian aggression, economic growth and cooperation, and post-conflict security architecture.
Specifically, the public part of the plan mostly includes Ukrainian demands such as an immediate invitation to join NATO, lifting restrictions on the use of Western-supplied long-range weapons to attack Russia, as well as the deployment of a "comprehensive non-nuclear strategic deterrent package" on Ukrainian soil.
The plan also includes three secret annexes that have been shared with international partners. Parts of the plan that have not been made public include a list of targets, a plan of action, and details of the weapons needed to carry out such attacks.
The United States and its NATO allies have so far agreed that Ukraine will be admitted to the alliance, but not in the near future. The West has also so far failed to respond to Kiev’s request to ease restrictions, allowing Ukraine to use long-range weapons to strike deep into Russian territory.
Responding to Ukraine's victory plan, the Kremlin said on the same day that it was too early to comment in detail, but Ukraine needed to "sober up" to realize the futility of the plan they were pursuing.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Ukraine's victory plan could be a disguised US plan to use "every last Ukrainian" against Russia.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also questioned President Zelensky's intention to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities with "targeted operations in specific locations." She asked why the Ukrainian leader avoided naming locations and said Kiev was "pushing NATO members toward a direct conflict" with Russia by asking the West to use long-range weapons on Russian territory.
“All these secret bullet points and appendices are not a winning plan. This is a plan to bring misfortune to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” Zakharova commented.
