25% Scholarship at RMIT and 100% Effort
Ms. Thuy summarized her journey with a few key points: 25% scholarship but 100% effort.

Thuy admits that she is not outstanding, but she has confidence in herself, knows how to seize every opportunity, and uses soft skills to make herself an outstanding and remarkable individual. Thanks to that, luck smiled on the young student on the last days of announcing the list of students receiving RMIT scholarships. For her, winning the scholarship is not only financially meaningful but also has great spiritual value when personal efforts have worthy results.
Receive and give - the journey of creating positive change from a female student receiving a scholarship
Ms. Thuy said she grew up in a residential area with many poor workers from many different places. Receiving a prestigious scholarship, the student of Professional Communication understands the meaning of giving and urges herself to bring positive changes to the community.
Since her university days, Thuy and other RMIT scholarship recipients have formed a group to help students access information about scholarship programs as well as application preparation skills so they can shine. While studying communications at RMIT, Thuy had the opportunity to work on outstanding projects such as Samsung’s CSR (corporate social responsibility) campaign and Nestlé’s 360-degree campaign.

After graduating, in addition to working at GroupM Vietnam, Thuy continued to participate in the Vietnam Digital 4.0 Launchpad project initiated by Google when she was nominated by RMIT's Center of Digital Excellence (CODE). With her practical work experience, she took on the role of a digital skills trainer for small and medium enterprises, as well as rural women in the Mekong Delta and Southeast regions. Digital transformation is one of the country's strategic goals and Thuy wants to contribute to this meaningful activity. The girl in her twenties took on the role of "teacher" for business managers, women much older than her, with sincerity and considered the results of the learners as her own goals. After two years of hard work, hundreds of small and medium enterprises as well as thousands of rural women began to apply digital technology to their businesses to improve their livelihoods.
Message for young people "Be proactive in letting the world know about your existence"
"I worked for GroupM Vietnam for three and a half years before moving to the UK. The job market in London is very competitive. A fresh graduate may have to send out 50 to 100 job applications to get a full-time position," Thuy added. Despite her busy schedule, Thuy said she still takes the time to support and advise young Vietnamese people who are studying, looking for work and needing to settle down in London and other cities in the UK.

To this day, Thuy still sees her RMIT scholarship as an important turning point. In addition to the opportunity to study and work, she also has valuable, lasting relationships and, most importantly, the ability to contribute to the community. Thuy especially encourages students to take advantage of RMIT's scholarship opportunities by boldly applying for scholarships. "There are countless opportunities at RMIT, but the important thing is that you must proactively let the world know your presence," Thuy emphasized.
The RMIT Scholarship Fund 2024, with the message "Invite you to join RMIT to initiate change", continues to award 106 scholarships with a total value of more than 51 billion VND to young people who are confident, ambitious and talented. RMIT scholarships are very diverse in categories and evaluation criteria for both domestic and international candidates. Successful candidates are also those who RMIT places their trust in and hopes for the contributions they will bring to the community in the future.
The deadline to apply for the RMIT Vietnam Scholarship 2024 is 5. July 2024. More information about the RMIT scholarship program here.
