Red Journey in Son La receives more than 40,000 units of blood

The “Red Journey” program is a national blood donation campaign with the mission of “Connecting Vietnamese blood”, first organized in 2013 and implemented until now.

In recent times, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Son La province has coordinated well with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion; directed Party committees, authorities at all levels, departments, branches, sectors and mass organizations of the province to organize propaganda campaigns to mobilize people to participate in voluntary blood donation.

Through 9 times of organizing Red Journey, Son La has received more than 40,000 units of blood.

The blood donation movement in Son La province has been widely supported and spread by the people. After 8 times of organization, the Red Journey Program has received 40,544 units of blood. This blood source has met the treatment and emergency needs of local patients and supported central hospitals.

On this occasion, 978 union members, youth, civil servants, public employees, officers, soldiers and people in Son La city registered to donate blood voluntarily. The organizing committee received 838 units of blood and transferred them to medical facilities, ensuring blood supply for emergency and patient treatment.

The organizing committee presented 15 gifts to policy families in Son La city. At the same time, it continued to encourage people to participate in the Voluntary Blood Donation Festival to be held in Muong La district on July 16.
