Thai social media has recently been abuzz with the incident of boxer Saddam Kietyongyuth being "beaten up" at a bus stop. The former WBC (World Boxing Council) Asian lightweight champion was attacked by a group of people, leaving him covered in bruises and bleeding.

Assaulting a security guard, a master of two martial arts was beaten and bruised.

Saddam Kietyongyuth was born in 1983 and was a boxer with a record of 28 wins (22 knockouts) and only 8 losses. He also competed in Muay Thai.

Most of Saddam Kietyongyuth's defeats came late in his career. The former Asian lightweight champion retired in 2022 after a streak of five consecutive losses in the boxing ring.

Saddam Kietyongyuth was injured while buying a bus ticket. The conflict occurred when the former boxer argued with a security guard about where to park his motorbike. Surveillance video at the scene showed that Saddam Kietyongyuth was the one who made the first move.

After a security guard was chased by Saddam Kieyongyuth, two others rushed in and punched the former Asian boxing king. Another group of men dressed as motorbike taxi drivers also rushed in.

Saddam Kietyongyuth tried to fight back but was helpless as the opponent was too numerous. The former boxer went to the police station to report the incident immediately afterwards.

Thai News reported that the former boxer wanted to fight the attackers one-on-one or take the matter to court. A security guard involved in the fight accused Saddam Kietyongyuth of being the provocateur. After police warned him, the parties decided to reach a settlement.
