Good news on the first day of the holiday

Since April 30, the number of visitors at famous tourist destinations has gradually increased, but there has been no jostling or pushing. According to records, at the top of Fansipan - the "roof of Indochina", at exactly 10am on April 30, a flag-raising ceremony took place at the tallest flagpole in Vietnam, attracting a large number of visitors to witness.

In Quang Ninh, on the first day of the April 30 holiday, for the first time, the locality welcomed nearly 1,700 Japanese tourists arriving at Ha Long International Passenger Port by ship. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province said that in 2 days (April 30 and May 1), the locality welcomed nearly 500,000 visitors, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 1,334 billion, an increase of 45% over the same period in 2024.

On May 1 alone, the total number of tourists visiting tourist attractions in localities across the province was estimated at 320,000. In particular, the Ha Long Carnival 2025 program with the theme "Connecting Heritage - Pioneering Shining" attracted about 20,000 people and tourists.

In Thanh Hoa, during the first 3 days of the April 30 and May 1 holidays, not only famous beach resorts, but also some tourist destinations in the Western region of the province also welcomed a large number of visitors such as Pu Luong (Ba Thuoc), Suoi Ca Than (Cam Luong)... Particularly at Sam Son beach, the situation of being crowded with people has been happening continuously during the holidays until now.

Also on April 30 and May 1, at the cable car waiting room to Cat Ba (Hai Phong), thousands of people and tourists lined up to go to Cat Ba Island. The number of visitors is expected to be higher than last year's holiday. Meanwhile, Hue city has welcomed more than 160,000 visitors so far. The occupancy rate of accommodation rooms during this time reached 98%.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of An Giang province, from April 30 to May 1, the locality welcomed about 107,000 visitors, equivalent to the same period in 2024. Some tourist attractions recorded a relatively large number of visitors such as: Sam Mountain National Tourist Area, Cam Mountain Tourist Area, Tra Su Tourist Area, Ba Chua Xu Bau Muop Temple...

Meanwhile, during the two-day holiday of April 30 and May 1, Kien Giang province welcomed about 143,290 domestic and foreign tourists, an increase of more than 50% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists reached more than 458 billion VND, an increase of 61% over the same period. Phu Quoc island alone attracted 63,425 tourists, accounting for more than 44% of the total number of tourists to the province during the two days of April 30 and May 1, including 10,846 international tourists.

According to statistics from the Quang Nam Provincial Tourism Department, the total number of visitors in the first two days of this year's holiday is estimated at 131,000, an increase of 41% over the same period in 2024, of which international visitors are estimated at 58,000 (up 11%), domestic visitors are estimated at 73,000 (up 93%). Destinations with a large number of visitors are: Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Temple Complex, Monument to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Bay Mau Coconut Forest...

The two tourist centers of the country are Ho Chi Minh City and the capital Hanoi, all tourist destinations recorded a high number of visitors during the holiday. Particularly in Hanoi, historical revolutionary sites such as: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Vietnam Military History Museum, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hoa Lo Prison relic... still had a high number of visitors but there was no congestion because the destinations made efforts to organize the flow of visitors quite well.

Many meaningful activities attract visitors

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam informed that during this holiday, airlines are expected to operate 7,536 flights, providing about 1.5 million seats, an increase of more than 20% compared to normal days. Some routes with high booking rates include: Hanoi - Dong Hoi (about 103%), Hanoi - Chu Lai (95%), Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoa (100%), Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao (92.7%)... Flights departing from Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City on April 29 cost from 3.1 - 3.8 million VND/person, equivalent to the price during Tet (depending on the airline).

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Vietnam Railways Corporation organized a pair of trains named "Reunification Train" with the theme "Reunification Railway - The country is united", contributing to arousing national pride, solidarity and aspiration for national development. The train not only attracted a large number of tourists to experience but also carried many veterans from the North and the South.

During the long holiday, celebrating the great national holiday, many destinations organize meaningful activities, spreading national pride, contributing to attracting tourists. Typically, at the Ba Den Mountain Spiritual Tourism Area (Tay Ninh), many tourists were given red flag shirts with yellow stars to pray for peace on the morning of April 30. In Da Nang, tourists wearing red flag shirts with yellow stars to Ba Na Hills on April 30 were given a ticket to visit the Wax Museum.
